I think this is my favorite video of yours yet, the editing and flow were really good imo. (also nice wok) (also I think you should heat the wok first until it starts smoking a little bit then add the oil, because the the oil won't polymerize correctly, resulting in a sticky, blotched surface.)

Truly an upgrade to Gordon's recipe. Not only did you make it plant-based (which is bomb) but you also added your own spin to this which made it even more special! I still haven't tried the Future lettuce's quick seitan because my non-vegan fam despises anything too chewy (not only meat-substitute wise) but I think for such Asian dishes it can really hit the spot. Having said that, I am still sticking to all these labour intensive and time-consuming seitan recipes which make for a more shredded texture - not going to risk ;P . Anyways, I am glad you had a great time filming and eating this dish! Sending lots of great vibes your way and wishing you a nice end of the week!

The longer for seitan comes out better for sure! haha BUT the quick stuff is great in a pinch! you should give it a try.. the original version and see what you think. Once its in a sauce and mixed with some other vegan, its a nice chew component!! ITs really nice!

@@UKMBNG I can't say how the seitan came out in the video, but in my experience you can't cook raw seitan in the size pieces I saw ONLY by frying. about gluten!! from someone who has a family member who has a higher education degree in this. gluten is NOT bad for you! a lot of people think it is because cutting out gluten from your diet can make you feel less bloated, thus making gluten, by comparison, make you feel bloated if you return to it. however, if you just chose to keep eating gluten and never tried to give it up, youd never notice any bloating sensation. your body is designed to ignore bloatung below a certain threshold because, unless you have a gluten sensitivity or intolerance, your body expects gluten to be in your diet

Someone tried to tell me it was the gluten that made me ill 🙄.! I snapped back though, it was that it was over processed and too rich for me! I make my own seitan and it never makes me feel that way! Everything seems to be gluten’s fault these days (that is true if you suffer for an actual condition). Funny banana skit! As far as the dish, I would have added a little more sauce to the noodles. Yes you need a food scale accurate to at least 1 gram increments ... 0.1 gram accuracy is even better. Once you go with measuring by weight you won't go back. It's a lot more accurate for recipies requiring accuracy and much easier to weigh sticky things like nut butters.

It definitely a different technique than when cooking chicken eggs. It takes longer to cook to get firm enough, but I use medium to medium-low heat for longer. I also find a REALLY good and NEW non-stick pan to be crucial. Try using a silicone spatula to stir it and scrape the edges constantly so it doesn't form a thin layer on the sides, keeping it mostly in the center of the pan. This will all help to not let it get crusty.
