Changing Pickups In My Fender Stratocaster Made A Huge Difference - Fender Noiseless Pickups Rule!

In this video I swap out some Tone Specific '71 Punch Pickups I installed in this relic'd Eric Clapton Fender Stratocaster of mine. The Tone Specific pickups were ok for a while, but over time I came to realize they were just a little too bright for my taste. I was given a set of Fender Noiseless Pickups from a friend, so I figured what was there to lose!? In this video I show a before and after audio test of both pickup sets, and I think the results will surprise you. I also show the pickup swap out process. I hope you enjoy the video. I really like the noiseless Fenders, they sound great. it's hard to decide without playing, because the "feel" has to be accounted for, and that is entirely in the guitarist's hands. The noiseless sounds better to me I have the old Stratosphere hot rail loaded pickgaurds in my 2 strats they still sound like strats but on steroids cool vid Marty 👍🤘🎸👽

The noiseless pickups sound great. I have the noiseless Hot Alnico 5 single coils with a Double Tap Tim Shaw Humbucker with an S1 switch on my Texas Tea Ultra Stratocaster. Love it.👍

I'm sure you already know but throwing in my $.02. Make sure you let the soldering iron fully heat up before trying to solder. Generally, if you're having issues getting the solder to flow, the iron is not hot yet. Give it a few more minutes and you'll be good.

Look up Lollar Blondes pickups anything Lollar is great and agreed good pick ups and good Pots CTS makes a huge difference 🎉

I have a 90’s Mexican strat. Great guitar. I wanna update it with a fender wired pick guard. Can decide between noiseless or Tex mex

Another great video. I was planning to build a new guitar. But, life happens, and I can't afford it right now. Hey, we all go through that... The option might be to just mod my "frankie" (not a real one, one I built). So researching and hearing single coil options that I can afford to add is great. These pick-ups cost more than my Guitar😁but it's something to think about. I'll be searching for 2nd hand ones, maybe in my price range, as they sound Great.

The first set sounds great in position 2 & 4 and the Neck. The bridge was a little brittle for my taste...

nice tone improvement. the solder on that pot is an abomination. you can always add flux to promote melting old material. with that mess - i would use a small set of side cutters to just chop off that blob and start fresh

You might want to invest in some solder wick and some flux. Flux will enable you to melt the old solder easily and the wick will remove old solder entirely. Also you don't allow the tip of the iron enough time to heat the joint up to melt the solder. You are moving the tip around too much. Your solder connections are not very good as a result. Might work anyway but dang do you have a mess underneath that pickguard.
