Because of your spinal cord video relating to WInnie the Pooh, Snow White, and Ariel, I've started to try and make songs or references for everything! SO for the the Rancho Los Amigos scale I made songs for each section of levels: "Amigos start off in trios!" -This was so I don't mix it up with allen cognitive by separating the levels into groups (1-3, 4-6, 7-8) "Levels 1,2,3.. Totally!" - Because levels 1-3 require Total assistance "4, 5, 6.. This can stick!" - Because they can complete and stick to highly familiar tasks "7, 8.. Learning is great!" - Because new learning takes place at 7! I hope this helps others too! lol

twinturbofun congratulations! This is a big accomplishment and calls for a celebration :) It's my birthday today and waking up this morning to your message was such a sweet gift. The NBCOT process was not easy for me and I wanted to reach out to other OTs who may be seeking additional support/supplement as I did while studying for the exam. It really makes me happy to know these videos are helpful. Thank you so much for coming back to this channel to leave a comment. Cheers to an exciting 2017 as you begin a new chapter as an OT professional! Congratulations again!!

Miri, I LOVE your videos! I was so afraid to take the exam again after failing the first time. I just didn’t think it was possible. Your videos really made me understand the material in a different way, and gave me little tricks to use in order to remember the information..even after the exam. When I eventually took the exam again, I felt ready and I passed! I had actually increased my score by 35 points the second time around. So thank you so so much for your videos! I hope you keep going, especially for those individuals losing hope like I did. You’ve helped show me that it is possible and now I am proof of that! :)

Hi Emily! What wonderful news and sweet message! Thank you for thinking of me and coming back here to share you passed the exam! It's always the highlight of my day when I hear the news of new colleagues joining me in the profession. I also appreciate your feedback so much. I started making these videos to help others who may be feeling as deflated, discouraged and anxious as I once felt. This journey can be so lonely and I wanted to reach those may need the hope I was desperately seeking myself. Today, I am tremendously blessed to be a part of this community and am grateful for your love and support. I hope you'll continue to stay connected and share this journey with me through the many transitions of your career. If you haven't already, please join me and your fellow colleagues at the New OT Practitioner Support Forum on Facebook. It's a wonderful group of supportive people who edify one another towards success: facebook.com/groups/newOTpractitioner

Miri, I just want to express my gratitude for your constant enthusiasm and encouraging words of advice throughout my NBCOT journey. I am taking my exam tomorrow and you have helped me to feel more confident and powerful prior to walking into that Prometrics test center. You have no idea how much it means to me to observe a fellow OT using her passion to help guide others into the profession! I truly look forward to watching your videos. Please don't stop doing what you do! You are appreciated :)

Dear Hannah, I woke up to your message today and it absolutely warmed my heart. I said a prayer for you before leaving for work and have kept you in my thoughts. By the time you're reading this message, you're probably already finished with the exam. And if you're like 99% of us, you may be feeling a combination of intense emotions- relieved that you're finished, anxious that you may not have done your best and absolutely exhausted from all the mental and emotional energy spent these last few days... But I want to encourage you to take this moment to truly celebrate all your accomplishments up to date. The fact that you chose OT and sat for this board exam speaks highly of your heart, character, drive, persistence and intelligence. You made one of the best career decisions and are on a fulfilling path to healing/transforming lives. There is so much to celebrate and I hope you will discipline your thoughts and emotions in these next few days to remember how far you've come, not how far you'll have to go. Every step is a precious journey towards your dream and destiny- go forth with confidence, joy and utmost optimism!!! With so much love and excitement for your future, Miri.

Hi OT Miri. I got my first COTA job at a snf! I just wanted to tell you and thank you for everything. I also wondered if you could offer any advice. I hit the ground running and go from room to room but my productivity is only usually around 80%. People keep telling me I should shave my time and round up or bill for time even if you spent the time yesterday with the pt. I don't feel that these things are ethical and I'd rather do things honestly even if it means worst productivity. What do you think? Do you have any tips? Thank you so much miri. I hope you and your family and your dogs are doing well. How's your startup doing? Love from Washington

@MiriLee2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I am late to respond to your message, but I wanted to respond and let you know that MedBridge discount is available as long as you have a valid .edu email. However, you do not have the ability to get CEU credit, or to send a home exercise program digitally (you can only send a home exercise program via printout with a student watermark). I know that the waiting period after the exam can feel long and stressful sometimes, but I hope you'll take time to get the much deserved rest.
