I think each of the muscle insertions and connections would be the same, just at different spots depending on where each of those landmarks is on the female pelvis.

Doc....a question please...and I realized 'this answer can't be substantiated s/palpation, differential Dx. When one lays in a supine position, with both knees flexed; what most likely would cause a 'non-painful' popping to one leg or the another, with subsequent relaxation of either fully flexed hip to a totally/or nearly horizontal position - perhaps less than 5-10 degrees in remaining hip flexion? In my case...there is no ongoing pain, no need for NSAID'S, etc. Just a "popping", each time (in my case), that/when my R-leg is moved from a total hip flexion to a horizontal/relaxed state? I don't have any trochanteric or palpatable pain, or of walking up/down steps... Cheers, Frank
