I agree. It's fun to see the dance choreos in k-pop but the most important thing about being a kpop idol is to be able to sing bare minimum stable notes and dance regardless of their position in the group.

The First Snow is like the "All I Want for Christmas is You" of South Korea. The song recently hit #1 on Melon real time chart. It really suits the christmas mood. Definitely try out their winter album!

This Killing Voice performance, as the title indicates, is supposed to showcase EXO's outstanding vocals, so what you are hearing is a compilation of some of the best parts of their songs that highlight their vocal abilities. They debuted more than 11 years ago, so they have a lot of songs. You are only hearing a small fraction of them and only a few lines of each of the songs (And in some cases, they are singing lines from the middle of the song, so it may sound different when you listen to the actual song. Plus, in this performance they are missing two members, so some of their parts in these songs were different than the original versions because they had to cover for the missing members.) As you can see and hear, this is a LIVE performance with 100% live vocals. As you have discovered, SM Entertainment is known for having some of the best singers in the industry. You can't be an SM artist without being an amazing singer. So even the company's rappers receive intense vocal training. (Yes, just look at EXO's Chanyeol on the far left and Sehun on the far right, who are both main rappers, and, yet, they each have amazing singing voices. How often do you see rappers that can sing as well as them?) All of SM's rappers could even fill in as main vocalists in their groups. That is why the company has gained the reputation as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. And what you are hearing is why EXO are nicknamed "the vocal kings of Kpop". Another thing SM's artists and groups are known for is for being top tier when it comes to live vocals and perfect harmonies. SM artists are recognized for the fact that they all can sing live while performing intense choreography for hours in concert and still sound flawless the whole time. Yes, there are only 7 members in this performance because Kai (main dancer, lead vocal and sub-rapper) is on hiatus due to him joining the military May 2023, which is why he wasn't in their "Cream Soda" MV; and Lay (main dancer, lead vocal and rapper), EXO's Chinese member, is busy with solo activities in China. From left to right: Chanyeol (main rapper and lead vocal), D.O. (main vocal), Suho (leader and lead vocal), Chen (main vocal), Xiumin (lead vocal, lead rapper, and dancer), Baekhyun (main vocal) and Sehun (main rapper and main dancer). Xiumin is the oldest member, who is currently 33, and Sehun is the youngest at 29. They are seasoned veterans at this point, who are all highly respected in the industry for their talent. "Sing For You" came out in 2015 and it is literally, as the title says, EXO singing to EXO-L. Some say the MV and song are about how the members feel and how they are dealing with the 3 Chinese members -- Kris, Luhan and Tao -- leaving the group. The remaining 9 members really felt like they let fans down during this time and that they broke their promise to always be one. (As you may know, EXO's slogan is "We Are One," which represents how even as sub-units they were one group and they are one with the fans, etc. So, when the Chinese members left, the rest of the members felt like as a group they broke that promise.) So, this song was a promise and apology song. As you just saw, "Miracles in December" is a song that is only sung by EXO's three main vocalists, Chen, Baekhyun and D.O. However, you will see all 12 of the EXO members in the MV because, just like everything EXO does, it's telling another part of EXO's story. The latest so far was 2012. EXO debuted in 2012 with their song "Mama." When you watch that MV and get to know EXO better, you will understand why D.O. was making jokes and they were all laughing when he introduced "Mama." EXO's debut and group concept is unlike anything you have ever seen before and "Mama" is one of the most epic debut songs and MVs ever created. This is the song and MV that explains EXO's entire storyline and concept. If you are ever going to understand anything about EXO you have to watch BOTH their EXO-K and EXO-M versions of their "Mama" MVs. "Overdose" came out in 2014 and this is one of the last MVs where all 12 members are part of the song and MV. "The First Snow" is about the magic of the first snowfall of the season and how it's the perfect atmosphere to fall in love. This song is so popular that you can hear it being played all over the place in Korea on the first day of snow and it's pretty much considered a winter anthem that gets played nonstop all season long, especially around the holidays. EXO's winter albums are always their ballad albums. Up until the last few years EXO used to come out with 3 to 4 albums a year -- a summer album that was more of their mainstream hype songs and a repackaged album a few weeks later, and then, in the winter, they would release another album that was more of a holiday album and it was all slower ballad songs. However, the last few years EXO's first comeback of the year hasn't been until the end of the year. Therefore, I guess, because the first album and repackage were released so late in the year, SM decided that releasing a winter holiday album would just be too soon after the other album. So, we haven't gotten a new winter album for several years now. Which, I think is a shame because EXO's ballads are really beautiful and I enjoy them almost more than their other songs. EXO's "Power" was also used as one of the theme songs, along with their song "Growl," during the 2018 winter Olympics. EXO even performed both songs during the closing ceremony. As "the nation's boy group," EXO was the only Kpop group to be selected to perform at the Olympics. If you like the sound of "Power" in this video, just wait until you see their live remixed version of the song. You should check out their "Diamond" + "Coming Over" + "Run This" + "Drop That" + "Power" set at their EXOPLANET #4 The ElyXiOn in Seoul in 2017, as well as the MV for the song. The whole reason why they were on Dingo's Killing Voice was to promote "Cream Soda" and the album, which is why they performed the whole song. You really need to check out more of EXO's songs and MVs. Instead of spoiling the song by listening to it before you watch the MV, you should put these songs on your reaction list and watch the MVs. You're never going to get to know the members or catch up with all their songs if you don't watch their MVs and content. 😁

Hi! I am glad you are listening to EXO. They are without a doubt my favorite group. 3rd generation, old school, Kpop. The vocal kings! So, you were both unfamiliar with the song "Mama" . It was their debut song back in 2012. The videos, both in Korean, and Chinese, Are really good. Also, the song "Power" ,They performed this song at the closing ceremony of the 2018 Seoul Olympics in 2018. You should watch it. Heck of a show!

Another member does do backup vocals and small parts here and there in songs, but they have 1 main. Their band is severely underappreciated. his voice is wonderful.
