Return machandice authorities RMA form 2as the best featurea customer had those days, and I burnt my sparkle 7600gs with passive heat sink. They replaced it same model with cooling fan tho a little bit noisy instead of aluminum sink pad after 6 months. So they prevented the return from the beginning. That makes sense!

I just got an 8GB RX 580 for $120US "buy it now" on ebay which is about £94 so at least in the US £89 ($113US) isn't a good deal for a possibly broken 1650. Even new an RX 580 is just $30 more than a 1650. The only good thing about the 1650 is that it doesn't need external power but the RX 580 needs an 8 pin.

Having owned both the GTX 1650 is a great option if you are upgrading a pre built or just need a low profile card for any computer with a small case. It will certainly make more sense than a GT 1030. That being said when I bought my T1600 with a full sized case I bought an RX 570 8GB and that has definitely been a noticeable upgrade. So if you are building a small form factor PC the 1650 is a great option but if you can fit a full height card in the case there are better options.

WARNING. Not all PCI-e slots provide the full slot power. Many SFF prebuilt systems use proprietary motherboards with much lower PCI-e slot power output. Definitively research before buying. That may be why the card was returned- original buyer thought faulty because did not work in system but maybe their motherboard did not support that much power from the PCI-e slot.

I took the MSI low profile 1650 and paired it with a small form factor Dell I bought at Goodwill. Swapped the cpu for a 3770k and added 8gb of ram and an SSD. Gave it to my little cousin and he was thrilled. He's a little older now and collecting parts for his next build. These cards aren't fantastic, but they can be a great entry point to PC gaming.

A lot of dell OEM systems and HP have a 50w limit on the pci-e rail, meaning in many cases 75 cards will not post due to being power starved.That was probably the case here.

Bit late at several years later, but I love mine in my Asus laptop I've had for some years now. Low power draw means super low temperatures for laptop especially, and it does just fine for what I want my laptop to do. I'm primarily on my desktop but the 1650 and Ryzen 5 laptop does the job for around the house and elsewhere.

Has there been any word on a follow up to the GT 1030 in the 1600 series? Something like a GT 1630 that's comparable to a GTX 1050 or 1050ti? The GT 1030 is just passable nowadays, but is one of the only cards that's single slot with a low enough profile to fit into literally any small form factor out there. I've seen the GTX 1050 low profile cards and they're nice and all, but most take up more than one case slot and have a heat sink/cooler that extends too far out. I'm hoping that something like a 1630 is in the works to allow some of those old Dell Optiplexes live a long life! Those Gen 2/3 i5's are still kickin'! They just need some help from a decent enough GPU!

A friend of mine deals with Amazon returns and gets lots of GPUs. What we find is that the lower end cards that get returned like the 950, 1030 and 1050 all work fine. Where as higher end cards above say a 1060 3gb mostly don't work. We thought that maybe people buy the lower end cards but are slightly disappointed with the performance so they return them and get something better hence why more of those work.

The 1650 is my gpu of choice for an HTPC when all you want it for is playing video and maybe a little bit of light to moderate gaming. I wouldn't use a high power GPU in that type of setup due to thermal concerns. The 1650 runs fairly cool by comparison.

I got found a thrown away hp pre build in a dumpster with this exact gpu. The processor was a amd a8 7600 with a few broken pins and missing ram so that was no good. But I decided to throw that gpu in a build for by brother. He doesn't need a good graphics card since he mostly plays minecraft and among us and the pc works like a charm. Also the power supply and hard drive were missing too.

ccl sells rx 570 for 129 and the gtx 1650 is 112.99 currently as for the 1650 yeah its more powerful than the gtx 1050 ti and cheaper so if your in the market and you are die hard team green guy or girl yeah the gtx 1650 is a better buy if not the rx 570 is a better card

If the MSRP would be around 100€ here it would make sense for many people, but for 145€ being the cheapest one i could find this is just a DOA product. Edit: just seen the cheapest 1660 is 185€ with around 50% more performance as usual the the 1650 is just a horribly priced Nvidia product.

The low profile 1650 is going to be excellent for a small form factor PC running emulators, retro style games, or other console type games that are ideal to play with a wireless controller from your couch. Nobody wants a huge tower sitting next to your home entertainment center blowing a lot of air around and not many people want to huddle around my desk in my den to play multiplayer rocket league.. For that kind of setting, it is a pretty stellar card.

Ya, if you are gaming at 1080p, there is no real reason to upgrade from an OC'd RX480 and a 1600 right now. I'd OC the heck out of the 1600 before I'd upgrade it. Wait a year at least for Ryzen 3000 prices to drop or to see if they will do a 4000 series that still works with your AM4 chipset in late 2020. If you are on a 350/370 board that won't get 3000 support, then you can just wait for the 2600 - 2700x prices to drop even more.

i would recommend getting a rx 570 and getting a beyter psu with the saved money for more longetivity of the most important part (psu). because a crappy psu giving in going boom, can kill your system. just like you mentioned for those old optiplex desktop units, you can fiddle a sfx psu with adapter in there, i made a adapter design for the optiplex 360 for 3d printing :)

tons of people will say a product its broken or not working to get a refund. so the guy who bought this originally probably seen that he got a terrible gpu for the price a month or so after he bought it (still in warranty) so he claimed it was broken and sent it back for a refund. and now you've got it because many of these RMA companies find it easier and cheaper to just sell them as "not working" to bulk buyers instead of paying people to test them. this is especially true with cheaper components

The card might be broken because some OEM motherboards can only supply 25-35w of power through the Pcie slot so the card would just run out of power and not work
