Hate to be that guy, but that's a Mourning Star Flail. A mace is a heavy head on a solid short handle. The chain flail was originally used as a tool for grinding grain into flour. and rarely was made out of metal/had spikes. Most often it would have been a hardwood ball. The danger inherent in a flail is that the ball becomes largely unpredictable in the chaos of combat. I was so afraid that thing was going to ricochet and put a hole in your leg, but awesome work either way!
