I remember how influential Randy Coven was to me when I was a much younger bassist and how creative he was. Melodic shredding bass guitar @ its best. He overplayed live in this demonstration to the point of tackiness @ times (but instead of just playing the normal bassist support role, he goes back & forth live between playing the studio recorded bass parts of the backing tracks and also improvising ex. different or harmonized bass lines over those recorded bass lines on the spot!) but it was and is so fuckin' cool to see a rock bassist play so melodically and technically as his ideas are fuckin' killin'. Randy was fearless in his playing and hella mega confident & cocky because he KNEW music theory, etc. and played like only he could with his many techniques that he incorporated into his bass playing. His studio recordings are the shit of bass legend. Rest In Power Randy Coven. Jah Bless.

I love Randy. Even though he stole some of my riffs I took it as a complement.
