I know someone who did one. Married at 8am and then had breakfast. They saved a lot of money on food and drink, given they only had one breakfast course and the only drinks were tea, coffee juice and a round of breakfast champagne for the toasts.

Why do you think a breakfast reception can't be classy and then compare it to McDonald's? I have been to several gorgeous morning weddings with glorious breakfast buffets featuring champagne, omelettes, crepes, crab and other seafood, French pastries and fresh fruit. How is that McDonald's? There are restaurants all over the place that have beautiful breakfast items that have no resemblance to McDonald's food.

If there's a dress you like that isn't conservative enough for the ceremony, within reason, you can just get a bolero for the ceremony and then remove it for the reception

I hate it when the bride brings her brother or groom to be or male friend & the male has a big say on what the bride chooses. The man rarely like what the bride likes.

Maybe that's because many of the dresses chosen by the bride and her female entourage are just not a good fit or plain ridiculous. Also, you as a woman want your opinion to be valued. Why not starting with valuing male opinions?!

@@janetrouse5917True. Individual parishes/churches may have very different expectations of what’s appropriate. I grew up in a family of church musicians (played for a lot of weddings) and the guidelines within one denomination vary a lot, much less what’s expected from Catholic to Lutheran to Episcopalian to Baptist, etc.
