My wedding dress was £50 and I have no regrets. I am glad that some people can afford complex dresses so that designers and makers of beautiful fabric, beads, patterns, etc. can continue their craft, but it's nice when there is a little humility and gratitude accompanying that. It's a very rare privilege indeed to ever get to wear a really beautiful, detailed garment, and so good when that is appreciated.

The thing would have been that nobody at the wedding or reception would have known the prices of the dresses unless bridey announced it a few times, and not even Ms. "Unforgettable" seemed classless enough to do that. The flamingo comparison is hilarious, but demeans a bird that's more elegant in its simplicity than that gaudy gown was in its "glory."

Adjusting for inflation between this episode's filming date--2007---and now, that second gown ($14,600) would cost somewhere around $22,000 today.
