Craig lost his son in a tubing accident a few years ago and he wrote this song about his son. He sings it at the Grand Old Opry and that video is very touching.
@SteveoDuhh Жыл бұрын
Also to follow up on this Blake Shelton (another country artist) told him he should sing it and perform it more for people who’ve been through the same thing as Craig. It’s a very touchy subject, he said after Preforming at the grand ole Opery, he’d never sing it again until Blake and other artists Told him he should. Blake promoted this song and even told the Top 100, he would gladly lose his spot for this to be put on it instead. Him and Blake are close now thanks to that.

Watching the live version of this is even more emotional. He swore he would never sing it again but his friends talked him into releasing it because of how much it could help others going through a loss like he did. Craig Morgan has an awesome story and well worth researching it. Even if you do not react to it, I highly recommend watching the live version.

He became an emergency medical technician at age 18. He served on active duty for nine and a half years in the US Army as a member of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions and remained in the reserves for another six and a half years. He wrote this for himself to help with the loss of his son. Fellow artists and celebrities, from Luke Combs and Bret Michaels to Ellen DeGeneres and Carson Daly, got onboard and “The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost” topped not only the iTunes Country chart, but the all-genre roster as well. I see the messages from all the families, and people who have lost children, who talk about how this song has reignited their faith and their love for humanity. That’s a powerful thing.”

I lost my son a year and a half ago. I can't believe the spiral it has sent me in. I've always took pride in how strong I was. But not no more . I'm beaten I have no happiness no control of my mind. Wondering was he calling for me to help him. The only thing I haven't lost is my faith. But I have no fight left inme. Life makes no sense. Thank you for doing this review it helps to know the pain isn't just me. Bless this man you and everyone

He performed this song at the Grand Ole Oprey and said he’d never perform this again or sing it again until Blake Shelton (another country artist) and others told him he should so others can relate to the message of losing a child and or someone you loved. Blake even told the top 100 he’d gladly give his spot up to make sure this song was on it. Blake also promoted this song to get it trending on Music platforms, thanks to that Blake and Craig are close friends.

In early 2022 my daughter and her husband decided they wanted to have another baby. They found out in April that she was pregnant and we were so excited. 3 months later we found out she had stage 4 abdominal cancer. We ended up losing my granddaughter and then my daughter on Jan 6 2023. If is wasn't for my sons and my grandson(her son) I would not care what happened to me. I have had a hard time with God but I found this song a few days ago and this is all I listen to now. Every thing he says in this song about getting motivated to do anything I can relate to. Maybe it will help but I guess only time will tell.

Thanks to Ricky Skaggs and Blake Shelton we can listen to this song whenever we want to. Craig wrote this after his son passed away and performed this on the Grand Ole Opry and said that was the only time he would sing the song. Ricky said it needed to be heard more and Blake helped push it. Watch his live version on the Grand Ole Opry. It’s much more emotional if you could believe that. I have a hard time hearing this cause I lost my son at a very young age about 20yrs ago and I still remember the day like it was yesterday. Craig Morgan reminds me so much of Willie Nelson when he sings with his movements on certain words. 2:27 no he said “go outside sit by myself but I ain’t alone” 2:49 a lot of worship songs have a country beat to it.

This is the most emotional song I have ever heard across all genres personally. Having almost lost our son at birth and how painful that was I truly can’t I shine the grief Craig is going through (and I’m a hospice social worker who deals with death). My greatest fear in life is burying my son. He’s now 16 and it terrifies me that I’m not with him all the time but we have to trust we raised him to be responsible

We lost our youngest son, Matt, when he was only 18, so I understand the pain Craig is feeling. 💔 The sharp, intense pain eases over time, but the empty hole in my heart has never healed even though it has been over 17 years. The grief hits differently over time...thinking of everything he's missed, everything that has happened since he left us...the absurd thought that my baby boy would be 35 now!! He had just become a man, but was robbed of LIFE and all that he should have experienced. A perfect song that encapsulates those feelings is by Kenney Chesney, called *"Who You'd Be Today"* I have no money to pay for a request, but for anyone who wants to give it a listen: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aH_IZJawbsqIqbM It's a very well done video, too. Jan 22 is a horribly rough day for me. That is Matt's birthday AND the day I lost my sweet husband unexpectedly 9 years later in 2015! 😞
