I love mine, paid $387 for it at Bi-Mart. I think it’s a great EDC and compares favorably to the Glock 48 & Sig P365XL. I added the M-Carbo spring kit and Ameriglo Hackathorn sights. Trigger is great. 100% reliable and easy to carry. It’s severely underrated. Thanks for the 2nd look review
@RobertTKlaus2 жыл бұрын
What Ameriglo sights did you use? I looked at the online catalog, and they show nothing for Mossberg, nothing in search either.
@pcnotpc593 жыл бұрын
I had never seen one of these in the wild until a slightly used one showed up at my LGS recently. It looked like it had never been fired, had the factory night sights, but only had the one 13-round magazine and no box or anything else. I jumped on it for three Benjamins and have not regretted it. I have bought four more magazines from Greg Cote, and the whole package has still cost less than the MSRP. Love it.

Great gun, have it as my ccw. I truly think the reason it didn't blow up big was that people were just immediately turned off hearing about mossberg pistols. When it came into my ffl they made a few comments of "oh I wouldn't trust a shotgun company to make a pistol, but it's your money", and that seems to be the general consensus online. Sadly don't think it'll get to be my carry gun for long tho if I can't find a good company that makes holsters for it with lights, the few holsters you can find are all just basic Kydex with no ability for add ons
@rogeryarnell18263 жыл бұрын
The way I looked at it, if they have the engineering ability to build reliable shotguns and rifles, they should be able to build a reliable 9mm. I have over 500 rounds through mine with no problems.
@dalemiller21603 жыл бұрын
Yes, no laser company makes a custom off the trigger guard laser. You have to use the rail underneath. I gave up trying to find a holster....

@@dalemiller2160 not a huge laser guy so that's fine by me, but I'm sorry it puts you out. To be honest I didn't even know Mossberg was making handguns before deciding to settle on my g3c. I will definitely be sticking with my g3c though because I'm new to pistols and I'm still managing 7/8 shots on target out of the 12 round magazine.
@larryfarell86372 жыл бұрын
That FFL apparently doesn’t know about Mossberg’s history. The first gun they ever made was a 4 shot pistol. I think it was called the brownie or something like that.

I also on the Ruger security nine, which was my first gun that I purchased eight months ago and I love it. For my next 9 mm I’m torn between buying the Walther creed, which has been discontinued, and this beautiful MC to see. Not sure which one to get. Are use both guns for home defense and just fun at the range as I live in a restricted state
@drmitofit26732 жыл бұрын
I bought one yesterday. Very nice! Two issues on initial inspection. One, I prefer more fencing around a firmer mag release button ala the FN FNS 9c which many say is too firm, but you don't want to bump it while carried and drop the mag. Two, extractor tension was very high causing lock up hesitation when test releasing slide on mag-fed brass-rimmed dummy round about 3/4" from lock up. Minor hesitation when sliding into battery can be okay, but this was too much in my opinion. Note: I am not jumping the extractor claw over the rim of a chambered round, I am just riding the slide to check for feeding hesitation. I removed the extractor, lightly honed the extractor claw outer edge and lightly radiused its lower corner and clipped 3/4 of a coil from the extractor spring and now will go into battery with significantly less hesitation now when slide held and released 3/8" from battery on dummy round. Before, the extractor tension was super firm and hard to move in situ with bare finger, but now medium firm tension which can now be moved with a firm bare finger. Extractor claw still has a very firm grip on rim of a test round on a bare slide. The gun shop's display model MC2c had significant creep at the wall, but the packaged example I bought was much better. I lightly polished the pyramid on the trigger bar that impinges on the striker safety plunger without removing any height and the trigger is quite good. Chopstick test: chopstick launched vertically an excellent 3 feet. Ready for range testing now. Tips on disassembly. With slide locked back and muzzle end firmly on a mouse pad to prevent slippage, slightly push up on rear plate while simultaneously depressing the plate button with your finger tip and then slide the plate down. There is not enough spring pressure to make the striker jump out of the striker tunnel (some 1911's can launch a firing pin doing this). Remove striker assembly before removing the slide. On reassembly, use the tip of the plate part way inserted to hold the yellow plastic striker guide down and then slip the plate up in place with a click. No tools needed. Tools could damage the delicate striker guide. The striker guide doesn't move when firing nor get much stress when firing. However, it could get damaged if you crunch it with a screw driver.

Longer slide means smoother recoil and larger grip means better control.
@nelsonstruewe40473 жыл бұрын
I love this gun, got it soon after it came out. My only “complaint” is that even after polishing the rails racking the slide still isn’t “smooth”, doesn’t sound smooth. Doesn’t hinder the shooting or performance of it in any way, just makes me a little anxious every time I rack it. Anyone else? Otherwise, I’m with you, I don’t understand why this gun hasn’t taken the market by storm. Heck, IMO, it’s even a good looking gun not that it matters. Great review as usual!
@GBGuns3 жыл бұрын
Ours is smooth.
@rogeryarnell18263 жыл бұрын
I think it's the way the outside of the barrel is machined with small groves instead of being polished smooth. Makes it a little noisy to rack, but mine operates smoothly. I have over 500 rounds through it with no problems. I don't see any signs of wear on the barrel or slide.
@nelsonstruewe40473 жыл бұрын

I’m with you. I can’t figure out why I don’t see more of these. I’m also fascinated by the takedown. The only reason my holster doesn’t have one of these is that I’ve had a Sig P365XL, essentially the same thing according to measurements and weight, for about two years now which I get along with very well. These are the two I’m most interested in as they have a full grip and longer barrel. Why have something you have to use a pinky rest with? That’s why I traded off my Walther PPS M2 for the P365XL. Maybe I should buy an MC2C for comparison’s sake.
