Foookin hell frank, was wondering what this were gonna be like! That front Diff was horrendous mate. Important thing is though that the old girl didnt give up and you still drover her home! Range rover power!!! Unbelievable that it never died..

Such awesome videos and so few views. These are proper offroad videos. You are blessed with cheap and numerous RRC spare parts, and the fact that diesel engines are allowed in your country :)

Im astounded by the amount of water that came from the front diff, I don't have that much fuel in my tank..LOL - I cant believe just how many places the water has gotten into, especially components that you would think are water tight, like the diff etc. Im still amazed when you turn the key, she just fires up, thats brilliant. Well looks like the old girl has suffered big time this time round, hope she makes it out of the operating theatre, and onto the next video..LOL Excellent video Frank :-)

Thanks Paul, we're in the process of fixing her up right now, almost got another gearbox fitted, i have lots of spares looks like i'm going to need them!! 99% of the time i spend on my Range Rover is spent just fixing her up, but it's well worth the 1% spent having fun driving her off road! Thanks to everyone for the positive comments & messages, i'll try upload more vids soon if i can manage to get a break from fixing her!

Hi Rob, well she's all up & running again mate, a good used LT77 gearbox is fitted now, flushed the axles & changed all the fluids so she's good to go (the front diff hasn't got long to go tho'!) we'll arrange something (in the daytime this time) i'm going to Toms unit this afternoon, maybe see you there?

extended breathers wont do nowt if you plunge right in with a hot diff, just takes it a little longer to suck it in to 'em. Give her half a chance to cool off next time mate! Made my rangey all sad to see that happen to her relative. Make sure you check your seals too! Keep up the good vids!
@cuda226612 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom, i think the water may have got in through the diff pinion seals as they are a little worn, anyhow i've nearly got another gearbox fitted so we can go out & do it all again!

Yea, especially the solo risky drives, with 4 ppl stuck with me:) those are the best lol, get stuck and wait all the time in my stock RRC :) I will upload some soon too, fixing one hell of a beating for my Rangie :D

Frank, Its looking a bit poorly matey...... but on the plus side let me know when you are "back at it" and i will blow the cobwebs off the double cab :) I need a reason to keep mine at the moment and looking at your recent vids it keeps me interested :)

I wonder if this is why LR don't fit extended breathers? Because there isn't really any point.

Forget the diffs...what's inside the fuse boxes and wiring plugs and connectors?

Suggest that you use marine gearbox oil in your axles as allegedly its got anti-rust additives in it (in actual fact when really good marine engineers rebuild a stern drive they use compressed air to make sure all the oil seals and gaskets are 100%) Turning a couple of hundred horsepower through two right angles whilst immersed in the sea is a hard act to follow bit it CAN be done! Nice video but it seems a waste of a good Rangie. Why not buy a Unimog or an old Bedford army lorry?

There is no drain plug. Just take the bottom radiator hose off and flush it through
