Well done! I have just had my oil cooler done here in Aus but there were a lot of the plastic pipes brittle and broken..I decided to let someone else do it that had all the parts in stock..yes it cost me but I wasn’t ripped off so was happy with what was done🙂🙂

There does seem to be many small pipe circuits, vacuum, water that are all getting brittle. I'm sure the climate down with you doesn't help. Thanks for your kind comment. 👍

Hello. I’ve just bought myself a 2010 TDV8 too. Live in Warwickshire too. I’ve been thinking of getting an OBD reader and saw one of Sam’s Motor videos of the last few days. He was highlighting a Black Friday offer on one which he recently reviewed and thought you might want to explore. It’s 20% off at moment and this one can be used on more than just RRs

I have the otto d1 i think its called, also in warwickshire but i got it because i want it for more then my l322. Does everything you could want for the l322 and still will do every other car. Id recommend that

@jamesa5980, did you buy one? I've just splashed out on the GAP IID tool..
@jamesa5980 Жыл бұрын
I bought the otofix d1 lite. However, the Gap iid is the benchmark tool of choice for those in the know. I just wanted something that could be used on the rest of my cars. As I understand it the GAP iid is brilliant but you can’t use it on multiple makes

Hi very helpful video. I was able to get from your video the o-rings for the 2 large pipes (lr023145) do you have a part number or size for the smaller centre pipe. Finding it difficult to find. Many thanks. Paul
@Woodyrvf75010 ай бұрын
Hi Paul, I'm glad you found the video useful. I pretty sure I’ve listed all relevant part numbers in the vid description. Let me know if you mean a different pipe. All the best.

Great video really helpful ahead of me doing the same job on my L3 22 V8 diesel. You mention the four inlet hose O-rings I think they are and you say they’re the same part number but I can’t see the part number anywhere and you reckon they’re about 90p eachpart number and we get those from would be really useful please. Thanks in advance cheers Danny

Here you go Danny, I honestly think that the O ring is the reason that coolant leaks from the base of the housing. I couldn't see any cracks in my existing one. Although I did change the whole housing. maltings4x4store.co.uk/thermostats-and-housings/genuine-4-4-tdv8-thermostat-housing-o-ring-lr023145/

How much for O rings? Recently replaced mine with Viton BS611 - 8.73mm ID x 1.78mm for less than £5
@Woodyrvf750 Жыл бұрын
Are these equivalent to the very expensive ones I bought?
@dukeofhuzza Жыл бұрын
They’re actually better! Viton O-rings will withstand higher temperatures. I did all of that on my RR last year - instant satisfaction and no more leaks (from that part of the car at least!). Good luck with the front suspension. Especially if you have to get the ball joints out. Tip - don’t bother! Get a garage that has the official tool to do it.

Looks like that loose coolant connection has been off before but not put back properly?

Looks like that 'loose' coolant pipe/elbow connecting to the oil cooler has been off before but not put back properly? There's a bit of shiny metal on the oil cooler spigot connection that should be covered by the coolant pipe?
@Woodyrvf750 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. The new pipe in the new genuine oil cooler had much the same movement. I'm sure the coolant leak was coming from the failed o ring that seals the thermostat housing to the block. That was also the view of my local specialist, Venture 4x4.

Hi m8, did you have to unplug the white connector off the throttle body and if so whats the best way of doing it considering the space?
@Woodyrvf750Ай бұрын
@@contreem6475 I’m sure all the connections on the throttle body need disconnecting. But I don’t remember any being particularly difficult to access.

Hi mate, how did you manage to get the stud at the back with the fuel lines over it off?
@Woodyrvf75018 күн бұрын
@@contreem6475 I remember that I removed a solid fuel line that joined the right side of the engine to the left but I’m sure this was just so I could pick up the oil cooler once I’d unbolted it. I don’t remember any studs that I couldn’t access because a fuel line was in the way.
