Looking Great, and thanks for the content detail. Will pick up some of that lubricant and spray. Had my drivers side step stick on me, tried a few things to help it, but in the end looks like I need a new motor.

The Back to Black finish that you put looks great. How long does it last, before needing done again?

While watching some of your other videos I noticed how clean your RR is underneath, have you treated it with anything. Great videos.

How do you make them deploy for maintenance without opening the door? Is it possible? Thanks :)
@RaymiesGarage4 ай бұрын
Its not possible to put them in maintenance without opening the door, these are after market steps you can do this with the OEM ones, process, Open the door stand on the step close the door and the steps will remain deployed

Mine are sometimes temperamental, but I suspect that lubricating them like this and keeping them clean is all they need.

Had side steps over three different vehicles and they are a MUST have. Never had any issues and always clean where the silver inlay is with a pressure washer. Now I thought I was an expert, but I never knew I’d you stood on them after closing the door they stay deployed. Always used the switch in the earlier cars which was a nightmare, the infotainment screen on a 2017 model was a pain, but the same switch on the later models worked 100%! Odd! But gonna try your theory!! Thanks and great videos! Did I hear right your helper is called Spock ?

Hi Mark These are not factory side steps, bought from pegasus, with its own module. On my RR L322 which had factory steps standing on them didnt keep them deployed, so not sure if this method will work with factory fitted side steps , and yes my helper Dog is called Spock and his brother dog is called Kirk lol
@markwall66512 жыл бұрын
@@RaymiesGarage so, yes the original JLR deployable side steps DO stay deployed if pressure is applied when they are out! Unlock or open the door to activate and then put some pressure on for a few seconds. Learn something everyday!! Thank you! Kirk and Spock, absolutely brilliant !🤣

Why use a copper lubricant over something like wd40
@RaymiesGarage2 жыл бұрын
WD40 is a “de-greaser” therefore will eventually remove any lubrication, hence the reason for anti-seize lubrication grease which will remain on
@jerryshields99062 жыл бұрын
WD40 will wash any grease away. It is not a long term lubricant

Sorry my friend but you shouldn't be using copper spray with aluminium pivots
