when i tell someone all 3 of my rovers are reliable, they look at my like im crazy. but yeah, the can go with differed maintenance like crazy. they dont break down, they just suck when you dont maintain them (i maintain mine js 🤦🏻‍♂️)

As a brit who has just bought a range rover l322 2011 overfinch i can tell you no one buys petrol ones really in England, its the 4.4 tdv8 thats reliable and does 25 plus to the gallon, my fiance lives in usa in michigan i love it here and just bought a wrangler 4.0 stick shift , great chanel !

Great colour, paint finish will pop nicely after a machine polish . and those alloys always look good. Nice buy. Couldn’t agree more with your closing comments that these are enthusiast purchases. If you’re not prepared to get on the tools yourself then avoid. They will infuriate you if you want a totally reliable daily. That’s not where they’re at.

In my mind, half the fun with Land Rovers is buying one from a non car person for a really low price, and slowly bringing it back to glory. There is little as satisfying as fixing something that's broken.

If you consider the cost of a newer car though, these with lower price of entry and doing maintenance/repair upfront, It will still be less than something new or newer and be as good or better since they were so well equipped. I got a LR3 at the beginning of last year, seemed like it would be good, actually needed everything, but now its a great car and will be for a long time for way less than anything that could compare and be new. I do agree though, I wouldn't recommend LR ownership to non-enthusiast friends/family.

Are the L322’s with the jag 4.4 or 4.2 sc fairly reliable? Or should you expect to put a good 2/3k into repairs after buying one? Should I just go for the cheapest decent looking one?
