Hi Bruce, thanks so much for the feedback, I'm really glad this video was helpful to you!😃 Good luck tomorrow, and keep us updated if you end up buying the car, and remember to put "battery replacement" as the first thing on your TO DO list! And keep some spare cash to replace most of the fluids in the car, to bring it back to fresh condition, since it's an older car. Keep in touch! 👍🏻😊

owning and maintaining your own L322 makes you a better judge than many so called 'experts'. Bang on with the money points - my 08 TDV8 cost me £6500 (2 yrs ago) with 100k and has cost me another £6k (new turbos and loads of bits and bobs) - only done 300 miles as has been off the road for a long while but looking forward to getting the car back after Christmas. So it owes me £12-13k - but I won't get rid of it - If I bought a £12k car I wouldn't have any more faith that it wouldn't need a fortune spending again. In spite of it all - I love it - Well done Fahad - Happy Holidays to you and yours
@josephgittos3787 Жыл бұрын
Yes it owes you that after spending money fixing it but what I do is compare that to a second hand average car and then compare what you have probably nom contest the RR wins , I dont own one of these bad boys ( I own a evoque ) for £12k it owes you , you have a smooth luxury car that can also handle different weathers very well and capable of going off road and lets face it with all the pot holes in the UK the RR will still feel smooth , I have owned a Merc and UK roads cracked some springs. To me what ever year of RR/LR you own they all look pretty good better looking then some new cars. congrats on yours

Hi Ant, thank you so much for your feedback and for sharing your experience. I'm so glad that you'll be getting the car back after Christmas! That'll give you a whole year to drive it to places and make memories with it! I think for what it's cost you, you'll end up getting a lot out of it and have a comfortable ride. Happy Holidays!

Good advice about budget I bought a £2000 td6 spent £800 done 20000 in 2 years no problems apart from cleaning injectors egr delete and clean manifold with oven cleaner which made a massive difference . Td6 goes well enough for me I get over 30mpg on a run and its easy to work on and parts are very cheap compared to later models. Keep up the good work the answer with these is preventative maintenance 👍

Hi Thomas, thank you for your positive feedback and thank you for sharing your experience. You got your RR at a great price and the mileage consumption sounds really good! 👍🏻 I agree, I have found this car to be easy to work on. We made a video earlier this year where we cleaned our manifold, have you watched it? We used different products, and the whole cleaning experience was very satisfying! 🤩 True, preventative maintenance absolutely goes a long way! Keep in touch 👍

Always a pleasure seeing the engine bay on your RR looks bloody spotlesss and can tell you have looked after it as the inside all very clean. I think too many people buy these older RR and dont do any servicing on them and wonder why they break, in may evoque I always try to put the decent diesel fuel ( I dont mean the normal Esso etc but the premium diesel ) in every other week
@lifeasusual Жыл бұрын
Hi Joseph, thank you so much for your feedback! 😊 I have to say I can't go without having a clean engine bay, especially after that experience with the power steering fluid flush 😄 As long as we look after our cars, they'll look after us! Absolutely, putting a good fuel in will ensure good consumption and good engine performance! We previously owned two Evoques, they are amazing, nimble cars! I'm actually considering getting another one as a project car! Happy travels with your lovely Evoque!👍

Another great video and always good to hear peoples views on what to look for. I myself bought a car with one key and no service history and have to say it's been pain free for the last year. I had it fully serviced by a Land Rover independent and they commented on how nice and well looked after it was. I have a 4.2 Supercharged 2008. It's a lovely drive and effortless to do so. Put your foot down and watch the fuel gauge go down but i's bloody fast for a 2.7 tonne tank lol Hope you and your family have a great Christmas and can't wait for the next video.

L322s are great cars, I have a 2011 5.0 s/c which I took a gamble on, cat N due to hail damage - it was basically half the normal price. I've done a load of work on it, mostly preventative and it's been perfect and never broke down. Agree Gap IID tool is essential. The numbers of these cars will diminuish in the current climate and later they will become sought after.

Since we're a small channel, our videos don't get recommended a lot but hopefully one day we'll have more reach, and this is why I always recommend for people to subscribe and like my videos, so that KZbin can show more of my videos and reach other people. Also, for the people who liked my video, they can be able to come back to the video. You can also save my videos in your own custom playlist, so you can always revisit them in the future. That's one of the best car buying guides I've ever seen! All credit to you :-) I'm just starting my search for an L322 and still in two minds about whether to go for a 3.6 or 4.4. The only thing that really concerns me is the cost of replacing the turbos tbh. I'll be looking for something with 70-120k on it realistically. I don't like leaving things 'until they fail'. I am very much a preventative maintenance pedant!! What is the average life of the turbos on both the 3.6 and 4.4? I'm kind of leaning to the 4.4 as the turbos are sequential (ie. one only gets used unless you floor it) and, by my odd rule of thumb, one main turbo ought to be less than replacing two on a 3.6??? Keep your videos coming - absolutely brilliant!
@lifeasusual Жыл бұрын
Hi Shane, thank you so much for your positive feedback and the appreciation, I'm so happy you found it valuable. 😊 Yes, preventative maintenance is the best remedy! 👌🏻 To be completely honest with you, I personally have not had issues or experience within the turbo territory. But my limited knowledge on the turbos is that there is no lifetime expectancy and if you were to service the turbos and replace your oil (especially the turbo oil plug) consistently and correctly, they should last you well over 100k miles. Again, to be completely transparent with you, please take whatever I'm saying with a pinch of salt. 😊 Good luck with the search! If you have any other questions about the L322 3.6 TDV8, please just drop us a comment at any point! 👍

@jackiechan88409 ай бұрын
@@lifeasusualL320 thanks for all the great videos!
@lifeasusual9 ай бұрын
Ok. My response is going to shake some feathers. Here's the thing: I have not officially owned an L320, so I'm not in a position to give a qualified opinion about it. However, this is my personal experience : after testing some of the L320s, I have found that they are a fake Range Rover badge. They drive and feel more like an old Discovery than anything else. It doesn't give the same feeling, driving or capability like the L322. The L494 and the L405 share a lot of similarities, and you can tell very obviously that one is a RR and one is a RRS. However, there are miles differences between an L320 and an L322. Just to confirm, the old Discoveries drive differently than new Discoveries as well, and the L320, I cannot compare it to the L322 or the L405 or the L494. The only car that I can match it with would be an old Discovery. But again, I'm not qualified to give this opinion because I didn't own an L320 and my response feels unfair to L320 owners here, as I could be wrong.
