Just got my first Rover 159k miles from a total shyster. Going to need fixing. Plenty of it. Sounds like pulsing tire rubbing at turn in. Instantly fell in like with you buddy! The critical opinion is much appreciated. Firstly the opinion is misunderstood if anyone complains. They are not the ones wasting time. Imagine the parts store had to reimburse for time and hassle then parts would be made pretty damn well all around.

What brand of hub did you eventually fit to resolve the issue?

Hi there, I’m about to take on the task myself along with a brake caliper,carriers and disks renewal so could you please recommend a distributor and how much I need to pay for the hob assembly, this would be a great help thanks Nigel.

May I ask: what is the name/model of the wheels? What is the tire size?
@bcwatson08 жыл бұрын
Video probably applies to the Discovery II and all subsequent models. Which do you prefer - the old style hubs with the swivel ball where you can replace just the bearings or the new sealed hub/bearing assembly?
@trailerfitter28 жыл бұрын
ah, Damn good question,...... horses for courses. To me it makes little difference if I am paid to repair but I do liker cassette bearing. However the sealed bearing need higher torque on the hub nut which as the vehicle size is bigger the tighter and harder they are to remove and retorque. I do like for me a bearing that can be adjusted under maintenance

Hello and thanks for the tutorial. I’ve got an 05 Range Rover sport supercharged that has recently developed an intermittent chirping sound while driving. Could be this a failing wheel hub? Thanks for your patience and any advice is appreciated. It’s been about a month now and the noise is still intermittent.

lol Sorry, the batteries on my long distance diagnosis crystal ball are flat. Best guess: Chirping sound = aux drive belt?

Hi Quick question. is there much difference in using the genuine bearing or can you use the timken ones? I need to change on my car and was wondering if there is a substantial difference in the two. Thanks

HI THERE, great vid :), can you tell me if this was auto please, mine has a bit of a whine around 50mph that goes off at around 55mph, we put it on our ramps and noticed our wheels do not spin anywhere near as easy as yours? weve just had the torque converter changed by metal monster junk at bradford way, so we dont believe there is a issue there? if we spin 1 wheel it does not spin the otehrs like yours did though? any ideas would be great matey, many thanks again

It is a manual gearbox.

What size socket do you need for the axel nut?
@unprofessionalmechanic84663 жыл бұрын
I think it is 32mm, my new Timken hubs for 2013 RRS came with 2 different nuts, one is 32mm and other is 36mm

Perhaps in a few years when the vehicles get cheap enough. Sorry about that. If i could, I'd cover all the models but life just is not allowing that.

Nothing wrong at all about telling the truth. A good company should accept all feedback both good and bad. They should investigate this and make sure it doesnt happen again. That would be the mark of a good company. Well done for being honest.
