How To Remove The Rear Hub On Land Rover Discovery 3 / 4 / Range Rover Sport

In this video we stumble our way through removing the rear hub on our project Land Rover Discovery 3 G4 replica. We show how to remove the upper and lower bolts and the brake caliper and main hub nut. This video could be handy if you need to replace your rear CV joint boot / rear wheel bearings etc. This is the same process / parts on the Range Rover Sport from 2005-2012

The camber adjustment is on the top bolt. You should have marked the washer.

You did help me out! I watched a few videos on how to remove the hub including yours. I had a right mare getting the lower bolt from the brake caliper out. Rounded the head, tried everything including the bolt extractor socket, nothing. Then I came.back to your.vid and watched it to the end, and I saw you did the same. I had no idea you could remove it by removing the other two bolts. Life saver !

Does it matter what way round the rear wheel bearing goes back in when replacing it .... many thanks Graeme Vass

I find using the double hex sockets with the impact driver rounds the head off, use a black single hex socket, much better! Chris B.

The camber washer is on the top!! You should have marked it first .. BEFORE undoing the nut.

Squirt of WD40 on all nuts and bolts before starting makes all the difference.

Are all the driveshaft nuts all the same size for the 2007 RRS to? Oh what size socket is it?

They are M24 thread and the threads are not the same on all models - some are 2mm pitch and some are 1.5mm pitch.

The 2 caliber bolts are 12 point 21mm only or you round off head on bolt

You don't need to lock the disc to undo the hub nut with an impact gun.

Try disconnect the battery and reconnect - sort of turn off and on again would be my first attempt
