Well...i have had lr322 tdv8 for 4 years now with no issues. The car has 276000 km on it and works perfect. The ride is classy, car is silent and it is almost impossible to get stuck in mud or snow. You just have to take care of this fine cars and they will last as long as any other cars.

I bought one with broken turbo’s, I tackled the job myself removing the engine and upon further inspection the 7th piston was burned so i bought another engine… just change the oil every 10.000kms and it will save you some money and headaches

Easy fix to prevent 3.6 TDV8 turbo failures is an EGR delete -basically remove EGR valves and fit blanking plugs together with a software tweak to prevent engine limb mode & engine check light conditions - available cheaply on eb-y via cheap shadowed Ford software this simple EGR delete Improves fuel consumption to a genuine regular 30-33 mpg @ 50 mph on long runs - turbo failure is known to be caused by the EGR valves sooting up and overpressuring the turbos - excess soot is probably due to running on cheap supermarket diesel 😬🤦♂️ If You can afford to run on expensive BP Optimax diesel it will probably overcome this scenario 🙃 These high mileage 3.6 TDV8 run noticeably better on BP Optimax eliminating smoke on cold start altogether & making them noticeable more responsive when towing hard 👍 My favourite 2007 3.6 TDV8 was regularly obtaining 36-39 mpg ( not when towing) for over 20K + miles- I had tweaked her with EGR delete-CAT delete & straight thru s/s sports exhaust which achieved these genuine mid 30's mpg figures & it sounded awesome 🤠...

If you can find a good mechanic who can look after the car it doesn’t need to cost a small fortune I had to replace the transfer box, it cost £900 for a 2nd hand part all fitted. I still love the car. It’s like having a relationship with an abusive girlfriend, you love her but you just hope she will stop kicking you in the family jewels. Things can only get better right?

It's a complex car. When bought used, people either don't service it properly all or at or use cheap Chinese parts that fail early. What do you expect if you do that ? No car is perfect, even Japanese ones. They have problems too. It's easy to be negative when you don't own one isn't it ? I have had various Land Rovers for 30 years. Nearly every fault, and there have not been many in 300,000 miles - 500,000km has been due to lack of servicing or incorrect parts.

I’ve watched video after video and agree with the person who said nevermind. IMO, this vehicle is intentionally built with components scheduled to fail. Why! Because if it were reliable and affordable it would be more commonplace on the road. But keep the ownership costs high, and it’ll remain a wealthy man’s vehicle. It’s just an ole ploy, like expensive restaurants: too rich for the average guy. So clientele are the wealthy.
@malcolmlane-ley20442 ай бұрын
Yet another video telling everyone that if you buy and run something that has not been maintained properly is inviting trouble. The problem with older Range Rovers is they've eventually been bought by people who can't afford them and then complain to everyone the brand is rubbish. My L322 Westminster was bought at 2 years old at 14000 miles and I ran it to 100,000 with only 3 problems, only one of which was related to the engine leaking oil into the valley of the V8 and fixed for £500. The other 2 issues were solved by buying replacement parts from Copart on eBay and fitting them myself, total cost about £120. Regular servicing and preventative maintenance is critical on all vehicles, not just Range Rovers.

Probbably, take any, i mean any car this age, this milege. And you will find problems with engines, turbos, gaskets, chains or timing belts. Just lets take a comparison. Audi Q7 3,0 diesel, VW Tuareg 2,5 diesel, Porshe Cayene 4,2 petrol, BMW X5 3,0 diesel. And Range Rover Sport 3,6 tdv8. All 2008 year made. All Of these cars have engine issius. Range with it will be on best place, with problems as you talked. Least problems. Gearbox-all the same quality. Air suspencion- the same quality and problems Rust- the same. So conclusion. If you want to buy a SUV 2008-2010 year with 200 000 milage, probably the range would be the top 2 choise. I have 20 year of car service working experiance. So i do know what i talk about.
