Good shooting ! Most times you're watching KZbin and the person in the video shoots at 7 yards the whole video. This is a true test of the gun and the shooter. Thanks for sharing.

I bought the 226 Legion SAO last night, largely based on this video. I have Sig 229 pistols, but the 226 Legion is incredibly accurate! Thanks!

I really enjoy your videos. They are very straight forward and informative. The one on mastering the 226 sa/da trigger really helped me. I appreciate you communicate firearm training to us regular guys. Stay Vigilant!

Great video...I just picked up the P229 SAO Legion, so far a great shooter! I’m having to retrain my trigger finger also after many years of striker pistols.

omg I really really love that gun - and I haven´t even held it yet Unfortunately it takes at least another year for it to be available in the gunshops here (Sweden). Good luck with that and it was exaiting to see it in action.

Most underrated gun channel on KZbin! Appreciate your insight. I own the legion p226 SAO like yourself, but recently thought about getting the DA/SA as well. How did the DA/SA shoot comparatively? Also, what gun do you carry? Thanks for the review!
@GunsGearOnTargetTrainingLLC7 жыл бұрын
Pippinm7 Sir, thank you for watching and commenting. I hope you'll share our channel with your friends and family. As far as the Legion in DA/SA, is a solid performer. However the effort it takes to master the transition between double action to single action requires a significant investment of time, effort and energy. I find striker fire guns or single action pistols more efficient for general use.

What are the advantages/disadvantages between DA/SA 226s and the SAO? Thanks for the great review 😎
@briansbrain4267 жыл бұрын
I went with the SAO because of the enhanced trigger system. The trigger face is flat but it does not feel awkward to my trigger finger at all. The reset is SICK!! Meaning you barely need to let off before the next round can be fired (technical, I know.) Some people do not like external safeties, which is pretty much a necessity of a SAO if you carry it with a round in the chamber (think of a standard Colt 1911.) I did not buy mine for carry or duty but as an entry level competition 9mm. Also, the SAO may not readily fit into run of the mill holsters, so you may have to shell out some coin for a custom holster (which I gladly did.)

Brian's Brain Thanks for the reply... you made a lot of good points from your own experience. I haven't found a range to test-drive the 226, yet.. but I definitely want to handle the pistol before investing into it. It's attractive because of the consistency and accuracy.

Finally picked one up...great gun, going to use it for competition. Only thing I that the left side edge of the flat trigger irritates my finger a bit, will probably have my gunsmith round that edge down. Also, I might gut out a weapon light and put in some weight to weigh down the muzzle a bit. All-steel/low bore axis guns like the CZ Sp-01 definitely have less muzzle flip, but Sigs just fit my grip and stance/sightline the best so I'm altogether faster on target and more intuitive with them, so I think adding a little weight will help.

Joe, I couldn’t agree more. And the sigsauer academy gives you this great 20% discount if you’re taking one of their classes. And they give you plenty of time to go to the pro shop during lunch. So a relatively inexpensive $200 training event cost me over 1000. But, I bought myself this beautiful gift! Thanks for commenting and watching. I hope you will subscribe to the channel and share with your friends and your family.

Great shooting. Really like your videos. As a fellow M&P fan, it's nice to see you working the hammer fired guns. How is the finish holding up on your legion? I hear it can wear prematurely.

All my guns are "tools" so I don;t worry about holster wear. However, so far I have seen no issues.

When in single action, it seems the trigger is comparable between the DA/SA and the SAO Legions. Different trigger configuration, and even shorter reset on the SAO, but accuracy and weight seem similar, would that be fair to say? I’m looking at getting one of the P226 Legions and can’t decide between the DA/SA and the SAO. Home defense, range, and target shooting is primary intended use.
@GunsGearOnTargetTrainingLLC6 жыл бұрын
The key here is to determine if you're willing to put the time in to master the DA/SA transition. If you are then the DA/SA might be for you. When Students ask me this type of question I respond with the following. 1) Define the mission (you said home protection as well as target shooting. Many people who say this go to the range and only run their DA pistols in SA). 2) define your training commitment - how many rounds will you fire weekly... what formal training will you do? 3) Do you fire many different pistols or are you dedicated to one platform? 4) Is the some reason that you want / need the long Double Action trigger pull? Again nothing wrong with that but it's not as easy to master the two different trigger weights (double action and then single action). However, itf tha DA/SA the action you prefer then by all means go for it. In my experience many people buy DA pistols but never actually practice the double action trigger for the first shot or after decoking the gun. To me that is defeating the purpose of the DA pistol. Personally I like a consistent trigger on every shot. Therefore I prefer striker fired guns oir SA hammer fired guns like the Legion is SA. Finally, I perefer the SA pistol and engaging the safety as soon as I'm leaving the target. I've seen to many people who run DA pistols with a decocker, fail to decock after they leave the target... That's a safety issue to me! If you decide to use go with the DA/SA which is a great, you might want to work on some of the practice as outlined in this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZWynXuljNWcd9k Thanks for commenting!

US Grunt Gear Holster. I don't recall if it's caused holster wear on the gun. All my guns are tools and I expect them to show wear. All of my gange and carry guns have holster wear on them. It's just an issue to me. Thanks for watching
