Recently acquired a SAO. What a fantastic firearm!

same here man - i got mine 3 weeks ago ... the best feeling hand gun i own and I own a lot. Took it to the range only once, shot just as well as it looks/feels. The trigger is amazing.

Great video. For myself there is only one option and that is the SAO. Even with the Sig short reach trigger, the DA length of pull on the P226 & P226 is way to long for me. The P226 SAO Legion is flat out amazing.

Thank you for commenting. I agree I really prefer the SAO trigger.

Great video. Thanks a lot. I own a Sig P226 MK25 and it´s my favorite gun.

I had the DA/SA version for over a decade. I did really well with it at defensive classes. I eventually sold it when my close-up vision started giving me problems when using iron sights. One advantages of this version to me was not having to reset the action for dry fire practice. A minor issue for me, being left handed, was swinging my thumb around constantly to hit the decocker. I'm looking at getting another P229 and I think I'll go with the SAO this time.

DA/SA because it was made for this mode. If I wanted SAO I would get a DWX or 2011
@Balticblue93Ай бұрын
Both my Sig Legion P229 and P226 are DA/SA. I do not use the decocker and my firearms that I carry or locked in a safe are loaded and ready to go at any time. Just like every other Glock, Sig, Canik, Walther, S&W, etc... I do not carry any firearm with an external safety, I install flat triggers in my DA/SA firearms and there is no reason to decock a firearm, unless you are going to clean it. If it is in the holster, or laying on the nightstand, it is ready to go when seconds count and I don't want a heavy first round or have to cock the hammer manually. SAO firearms that I do own with an external safety like my CZ Shadow 2's and Staccato P, Platypus, Fusion. I have used in competition, but I do not ever use the external safety, and I pin the palm/grip safeties on any 1911/2011 I own. I don't even own a striker fired firearm that has an external safety, and I have a fairly sizeable collection being an 07/02 SOT, Armorer and Gunsmith.

That's the best way to go can't decide which one to get, just get one of each very nice

How is thumbing a safety easier than just pulling the trigger. I've never understood?

My 229 is DA/SA and i dont think I'd trade for a new SAO. Im sure they're nice but the DA/SA is what I like about the 22X series

As a owner of both the DA/SA & SAO in both Legion 229 & 226 I prefer the DA/SA version, however the SAO I feel i shoot just a bit better with tighter groups.

Sir, thank you so much for watching and commenting. I found generally that single action pistols are much easier to shoot. I think the enhanced trigger shape of the SAO version helps tremendously. I put the 45 degree trigger on…the part was from Gray guns. Anyway, I enjoy both of these pistols, but personally prefer the SAO version. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. If you haven’t already, I hope you will subscribe to the channel and share it with friends and family.

I have an HK P30 SA/DA, and recently bought a P226 legion SAO... I was dead set on SAO because the SA/DA thing is not idea. It sounds good on paper, but in practice, SA alll day.

I got a P220 Legion, optic ready10mm SAO, last March but it came with a curved trigger, I didn't even know there was a straight trigger available...
@GunsGearOnTargetTrainingLLC4 ай бұрын
Yes, you can purchase that trigger and swap it out. If it’s a single action only pistol the 45° trigger is superior in my opinion. I appreciate your commenting. Stay safe
@michaelcraft55732 ай бұрын
I also have P220 legion 10MM and it has the curved trigger. I thought it would ship with the same flat trigger as the p226 and p229 legion. I want THAT trigger for the p220. do you know where i can order it and have it swapped out? thanks@@GunsGearOnTargetTrainingLLC

CZ makes pistols with decockers. The 75D, the P-01, the PCR, and the P-09 all have decockers.

Excuse me but you might want to clarify what you said about CZ. CZ handguns equipped with decocker IE SP01 P01 work pretty much the same as your Sig. You do not need to manually lower anything on a live round
@davidransom44764 ай бұрын
PCR and 75 BD, also. I have to manually decock on my CZ 75 B SA .40. Looking to get a 9mm, but something more simple that I can hand to someone else if there's a need at home.

Sir, thank you so much for sharing that information. I’ve shot a lot of CZ 72 pistols, but not the SP01 PO1 . I do like CZ pistols, especially the fact that they have the low bore axis. Thank you for watching.

Great as always! But... CZ do have a decocker depends model "D" do have it (maybe you were thinking on the new Shadow model). I do like both Sig and CZ's. I hope you reach the 100k soon. Stay safe.
@GunsGearOnTargetTrainingLLC4 ай бұрын
Thank you for the correction. I’ve only shot the shadow and the CZs without the decocking mechanism. I do prefer the lower access of the CZs. Thank you, my friend, I always appreciate your support and the fact you watch the videos.

I hear you. It’s a matter of really practicing with the double action to Segal action transition. I highly recommend giving it a try. I tend to shoot striker fired, or single action only pistols and the double action has been a struggle for me, but it’s gotten better with practice. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
