I know about the Grip Safety, I forgot to talk about it. I think you should listen to our Video about modifications with our lawyer Tim Forshey. HE will explain how this works in the Judicial system and how if you disable a safety on a firearm and you use it to defend yourself, you might end up in deep doo doo!! This pistol has a 2.5 Lb Trigger Pull, and with the Trigger Safety removed, no bueno!! Oh, when you buy this trigger, you have to accept to the fact that there's no Trigger Safety and you take all the liability!! This was made for competition only!!

⁠@@yrsuedthat lawyer is an idiot. Think about the logic behind the theory. So if you have a DA/SA pistol and turn the safety into a de cocker you’re eliminating a safety doesn’t mean doo doo same with a trigger. If you install this trigger and use it in a justified self defense the courts won’t even think about aftermarket parts.

Does Springer make a flat trigger for the XD-9 that is suitable for EDC? The lack of a trigger safety is not an issue for me. But lightening up the pull is. Something in the range of 4-4.5# would be good. Thank you!

Honestly, I don't know. I know that I don't use these triggers for EDC, they were never meant for that.

The Website makes you check a box that reads: "Yes, I understand this product does NOT have a Trigger Safety" That in itself should be a BIG hint not to use as a defense Pistol They no longer offer it as an XD 9/40 Option either

BTW, at the time you mark that box, YOU are taking ALL the Liability of not having a Trigger Safety. So, if you get into a self defense shooting, you HAVE to admit to shooting, because you can't say the shooting was accidental, even if it was because you willingly installed a trigger without a trigger safety!! And the manufacturer has a document where YOU accepted to do so!!

So the question is, will the trigger still go off alone without putting pressure on the grip safety? No, right? Then, there shouldn't be a problem carrying it with this trigger, right? Unless there's concern about it going off if you drop it, which I don't think will happen. I'm interested in this trigger for my XD40 subcompact because I'm having that "trigger bite" issue with the OEM trigger. And this trigger looks like it'll get rid of that issue. I'm not necessarily looking for a lighter trigger pull. Anyone else have that trigger bite issue?

My statement has NOTHING to do with Safety, but with LIABILITY!! If you use the pistol for a Self Defense situation and you get a Soros Funded DA in a Blue State, you WILL be HOSED because you removed a Safety Device and ANY lawyer will tall you that this is NOT Kosher. The Springer Website will tell you ask you to check a box when you buy this trigger that this trigger is for Competition. This is all Liability related. You are literally removing a safety. You don't want to find out the hard way that you are liable at that time. Do some research, even USCCA will refuse to protect you in certain cases and I bet that removing a safety from a handgun is one of those cases.. Our Lawyer always says it's VERY hard to prove your innocence from behind bars.

Simple to do, get used to it!! I have used Grip Safeties since my first 1911 in 1984, You need to learn how to use them!! NOT hard to do!!

What are you talking about? Can you read, Pal? I carry a gun with a Grip safety. The man in the video says the weapon has NO safety mechanism after the trigger install, this is not true. So again, I don’t know how he can hold a gun in his hand and not notice it has a grip safety.

Look at what just happened in Austin, you find a prosecutor that proves that you removed a safety from the firearm you used to defend your life and you are going to be in deep shit!! "competition only" : wait Mr. Bad guy I have my competition only trigger installed let me get my other gun. I've been in and out of Aghan and Iraq most of the times when we're outside the fence my weapons especially crew serve weapons do not have safety. Like 50 Cal. Understanding the trigger clause sure, I'll buy that.

You can do what you want, it's up to you!! You are a BIG BOY!! When you buy this, you HAVE to click and say that YOU KNOW this is a Competition Trigger. YOu make the decision to use it for carry, you are a grown man, you will have to face whatever consequences a Soros Funded DA decides to do with you if you use it for Self Defense. I just gave you the information, it's up to you to do with it as you wish!! One thing our lawyer always says "It's VERY hard to prove your innocence from behind bars". And VERY expensive. You better get insurance, but one that will cover you when you take a safety off a trigger because you wanted to prove a point.

I think you need to speak to your 2 Amendment Lawyer in your jurisdiction, you might be surprised, unless your lawyer just wants to charge you $400 an hour to get you out of trouble, our lawyer wants to prevent that
