My fan was as noisy as hell so commenced this job. However, after removing the back panel, I found that the central nut that holds the fan on was very loose. Tightened this up and presto, noise gone. Now quieter than a very quiet thing. Wife thinks I'm a hero. Very good video.

For anyone that is contemplating this repair, from my own experience carrying out the operation, be advised that the nut which holds the fan on the motor shaft has a left hand thread, if you look carefully at his hands whilst removing the old and installing the new fan you will, in fact, see this to be the case.

I wish I had read this comment 10 minutes ago. Just sheared the fan shaft by trying to loosen it but was in fact tightening it.... Can't believe that wasn't in the video...

@hblazza it's a pity they didn't put a tag in the title of their post to point this fact out.

Hi Matt, we have a rangemaster cooker, the oven below has rusted side panels. Could you advise how to clean them? I am worried the rust will spread to food as it can be used only with fan.

Hi could you advise as to what might be the problem. The top right oven on a Leisure cook master CM101NR has had a new element. When turned on starts to heat up with indicator lamp on after after 45 second's to a minute or so cooker turns off and MCB in the fuse board trips out. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

The 4 nuts that hold the first plate that covers the fan are impossible to undo. Tried WD40 on them still no luck… any advice?

You could have told me to disconnect it from the mains before I started, I blew myself into the next county, had to get the bus home. Our fan motor sounds like the main runway at heathrow airport, howling constantly when oven is on, its about as much use as an ejector seat in a helicopter, and the customer services for ringmaster are as much use as an inflatable dart board, they couldn't give a ..... well, you know what I mean. Nice video, thanks.

Hi Steve, all our videos give a safety warning so you must have missed that at the start but hopefully if you watch our video on how to change the fan motor it will help ☺
