Thanks for the vid/info! would love to see more on NVG stuff. Any tips/tricks for working under NODS would be cool(Judging light conditions w/ duels, eye cups/no eye cups, tips for walking on various terrain, ect).

Great setup 👌🏼 be careful with the S&S mount, I seen you tied it around the ball joint, had a buddy almost lose his do to the fact we were hiking through some thick brush and the mount broke at that ball joint... pop out of the socket... ended up having to stick it in his pocket. Same light set up you have there. He luckily had his tied to that opening on the arm so it was hanging from his helmet and was saved because of it. Enjoy your content subbed

what size airframe cover do you have? Did you have to size up relative to helmet size?
@REDSTRIKE1752 жыл бұрын
I think it was a size down, so for an L helmet I think you need to run a medium

Why is it that after so many years of beating, bashing, smashing and breaking ourselves... we just can't seem to stop and just go fishing or buy a sailboat or something? Nope... just more gear and find a new way to beat, bash, smash and break ourselves!

Have you upgraded helmets? If so would you sell this maritime?

Still running the maritime.

I’m running a NVD bnvd sg, and a dtnvs at the moment. Nice tip on the girth hitch tie downs. I like the helstar6. Too expensive though imo.
@REDSTRIKE1753 жыл бұрын
Agree, too pricey for most applications. Can’t go wrong with any of the helstar’s though.

The smaller tie down cord, what is it? Thanks!
@REDSTRIKE1753 жыл бұрын
String from an S&S Vlite, but 550 cord gut works the same.

This is a well done video. I like it... I'm not sure how to say this without sounding like a dick, but a tip maybe? a request? something that would be nice?... either way, no disrespect or anything but if you had links for things... example, the light mount, the light, the helm cover... just so if i wanted to purchase the EXACT thing... i know we are on the same page. Thanks! well done! I will be back!

Always appreciate the feedback brother! I’ll go back and add some links, and add them in future vids.

Unless I have to set up my helmet to a Unit/team SOP I'm a big fan of not have everything attached to my helmet. Reason one is I don't care who you are after wearing your helmet for an extended time you are gonna take it off for a sec to get some airflow and relief for your head. the second reason is if anything your helmet gets fucked up and damage most people have their commo, eyepro, lights, and everything else built into your helmet you are basically completely outta the fight. Its not bad to have it that way but from my experience ill at the least my have my comms attached to it.

What's your thought on the Ecoti or PAS-29?
@REDSTRIKE1753 жыл бұрын
I'm personally a fan. I haven't used the newer E COTI but ran the PAS 29 while I was in. Some guys didn't like them based on the weight being added to the nods (it is noticeable,) so a lot of guys just ran thermals on the rifle. I say if you can get one for a good price and are constantly doing stuff at night it's worth it.

What size is your OpsCore MT in relation to head size?
@REDSTRIKE1753 жыл бұрын
I’d go by the measurements gentex puts out. For reference I’m like a 7 3/8 hat size (with a good amount of hair) and I’m at the edge of a large with the lux liner

@@REDSTRIKE175 dude lol I’m dead ass 22in at the top of the Med reaching Large. But Idk if the large is going to be too big

Blue is all the rage now, so if I had to do it again I’d probably look for a blue option (easier to spot/work with blood)

I detest helmets but do really like these high cuts. I saw one first time in 'stan would love to get one but they're far too pricey for me at the moment. Have a reinforced ball cap that I've used as a bump, just the crown is reinforced so it protects when getting in/out of stuff. And actually check out our ops helmets, zebra 3. III ballistic protection and is pretty similar to this but without any rails or such..cost you about 59.99 then add on whatever postage. Cheaper, doesn't comp on protection but isn't as adaptable as this. This one would be pretty brilliant though so definitely adding it to my personal gear list.

I like the build, however I wouldn't spend money for NVGs, I am more of a day-combat dude
@REDSTRIKE1753 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely a niche thing. Not really a necessity for most imo, but still nice to have around.
@jonathan915953 жыл бұрын
Ah yes day combat dude, cause like half the hours of the day aren't in low light.. movement at night is the way to go. You don't get to pick and choose engagement times. There's a reason most raids in theaters happen at night.. the enemy doesn't have nvgs, or a limited amount.
@josephleinhauser61302 жыл бұрын
Ah the age old dilemma , you don’t want to drop the coin on nods, and since you’re a day combat dude you’re most likely not going to need them anyway.
