As a low-density MOS guy, my big thing is to learn your support role first and then do the cool guy stuff. I was a 25U and when I got there all I did was get with the line companies was to go ranges and work out. After a while, cuz we had no Fisters they sent me JTAC school and combat communications courses and that was rad don't get me wrong but I didn't respect the admin portion of my duties like paperwork and little things like setting up printers. I know you will get messed with because you're not a combat MOS but you play a role and people will respect you when you become a wizard at it.

Hey brother, quick question I’ll be seeing those pool drills, etc. sometimes no goggles. I wear contacts. How does this work? Do you just take them out? Can’t see very well and hope for the best.? lol

So you won’t be allowed to wear contacts at all in basic/ait/osut, I don’t remember exactly what dudes with glasses did for the pool test but if your eyesight is really that bad you’ll be wearing the bigass ‘birth control’ glasses that have an elastic strap to keep them on your face

@@Alkp3k I’d hold off on getting lasik or anything until you’re in; the army will do PRK which is essentially the same thing completely free if your eyes meet the requirements. If you get lasik you have to wait up to a year to enlist to make sure the eyes are 100% healed. At least from the research I’ve done. But if you have the time to wait might be worth it just talk to a recruiter to find out exactly

What would happen if hypothetically you make it through rasp as a 13f, would be accepted but they don’t need that MOS at the moment?

id imagine they wouldn’t not need a 13f. you wouldn’t be dropped from the regiment but maybe put into the commo shop or made an RTO. they aren’t gonna waste someone who they just spent a ton of money on to train in rasp
