With the electronics module on the chassis rail there is a hole in the bracket to plug the plastic holder back into.

Just had a look under mine now, and the OEM plastic guards at 5:00 look totally useless. Might explore these GMF ones as they seem to provide solid protection.

Ty, once you lifted the front with the rings; any problems with the reverse camera ? Did you need it recalibrated?

I put the GMF bonnet struts on mine but took them off pretty quick. Have a look at the flex of the bonnet when it loads up to drop the bonnet. I think the struts should have been longer and this might not have been an issue. Brackets and struts sitting in a drawer in the shed now!

@@TyFenwick 400N. If yours are the same take a look from the top of the bonnet as you bring it down. You will see the flex. It’s not heaps but over time I think it’s an issue so I made the decision to take them off. I’ve only got 11k on mine so haven’t had to lift the thing very often yet anyway! The kit was definitely well made and good quality,just a personal observation and choice really.

Food for thought, go to a dealership and have a look at other vehicles with factory fitted struts.. dodge, Holden, Ford etc they are similar and the bonnet may flex a wee tad, however it is nothing to worry about at all. Thanks

@@grogginess probably got more to do with where the mounts are located and the orientation/action of the struts. GMF (and any similar brands oriented the same way) put a lot more torque into the area where the bonnet connects to the hinges and would be the cause of the flex kenadams6412 is seeing. Struts with the top mounting point further to the front of the bonnet and bottom mounting point towards the rear of the engine bay would alleviate this.

Yes the get hot when pushed hard on the sand. Herrod performance upgrade can massively reduce temps.

Awesome video! I would add that you put some Loc Tight on some of the bolts to prevent loosening. Gas Truts seem to be a pain to install. Wonder if that system would interfere with installing ditch lights? Thanks for sharing.

I gave up on the trailing arm guards. Easier to make my own that can be fitted way more easily. The front lower bend makes it so hard to even get the front nut on the bolt.

@@billybob1511 I put some electrical tape on the back of the spanner, placed the nut in there and then a little over the washer to hold it in place then just slid the bolt in and tightened it up. If you haven't given up all hope, I got them done in 10 minutes after using that method.

Previous gen 1 did but it also didn’t have a twin turbo v6 powerhouse. If they put everything on it price would just blow out. Plus gives Aussie manufacturers something to fab and sell !

I've owned one of these for 6 months and have lifted the bonnet....twice. It's not pretty under there, and you can't fit a second battery, so not sure you would open it much in any case. Gas strut on the tailgate though.... fitted one of those as soon as I found a kit. That's useful as I use the tailgate often.

@@TyFenwick Exactly. There are lots of areas where Ford "could" have gone to town, but the price would go through the roof. The foundations are super solid: Engine, Drive Train, Lockers, Suspension, Interior tech, etc.
