Ranger students tackle the Darby Queen obstacle course at Camp Darby, Sunday April 26, 2015. The Army's Ranger School, which has historically been open to males only allowed females to qualify for the Army's most elite training course as part of the military's gender integration assessment. At the beginning of Ranger School, 19 woman joined the course, and 8 females continued beyond Ranger Assessment Phase (RAP) Week.

Don't know about that, I heard instructors were pressed to graduate those females when I was at Benning from one of the individuals that did graduate.

yep i heard that too. They need more female tapped officers so they pushed them through the course at a way lower standard compared to the males. Though they say the standards are the same, the females are given a handicap

@Georgio McCool Though the RIs might be lenient during RAP week, those who make it past still have to get through darby, especially mountain, and swamp phase. It's though to make it through and the RIs are not going to be leniant Also, yeah as much as I would like to complain and want everyone on an equal footing, it is a New Army where the standards are being worked on now. I just hope the leadership realizes that no matter who goes through the school, they should all be treated equally like shit. Hopefully, I'll get a slot in the future and the standards are kept

I heard from one of the guys in a class with one (Or two, I don't recall) and he mentioned how during the field exercises, they'd disappear for like six hours, then come back like they had a nap and a shower. I was also reading an expose about how one of them was the commander for a March exercise at night, where her one job was to motivate the others and count heads to keep account of everyone... Only to end up having lost someone for like two hours. She had one job and she couldn't even do that. Only for them to turn around and fail the other guys for the exercise yet pass her along.

The Marine Corps did a experiment with females in infantry roles, and it was a dismal failure. Stress fractures, the lack of physical stamina and just carrying the weight of equipment and weapons for a sustained period of time was too much for them to be combat effective.

During our time there was no females and i dont thing if they could be able to go through, we went for desert phase in Utah, whereby you have to clear machine gun trench which is firing life ammunition, i was in class 14/87

I spent 5 years in Army support units filled with women. The extremely small handful of females who could perform well physically could only do so for VERY limited time, not for sustained periods of time like would be required for Ranger School. With that in mind, I'm glad I'm now a civilian and my kids have heeded my advice not to join.

They original 3 females, failed the Darby two times, were given a third opportunity. They recycled the third time after a 45 day rest and recoup. The 37 year old, mother of two children failed all three phases twice, but was given a third recycle each time. That is why it took her almost a year to finally get her tab............this is what the Obama admin. did to our Army....sad

This is RANGER SCHOOL a leadership course that even big army can volunteer for. THE SCROLL AND TAB REAL RANGERS are a fast tempo high action unit that is leagues above most other units. Maybe not the same tier as GB but their mission set is completely different. RANGER SCHOOL (TAB) IS NOT THE SAME AS THE 75th RANGER REGIMENT.

Fort jackson have the forge it's 5 days rucked 16 miles on the way there and rucked back 16 miles. We sleeped in hastes dugged them in the night. Only got about 1 to 2 hrs of sleep at night. Had fake morters rounds throughout day and night. Chemical attacks during the night. We rucked a total of 50 miles. They just changed it a couple of months back
