Majority of an MOS can be in regiment now. Back in 2012, we had 3rd batt come to Fort Meade recruiting. Mainly, for their build up of signal and comcams.

Facts. One of the odd examples and I used to be this MOS is that 88N and I think 88M also can be in the regiment . No tab but can wear the scroll. There are a few non combat mos they take in but people call bs. Look it up or if in the Army ask around. It is true 😊

@@belmontpo Right on. I forgot which is first. However I have seen some 88s mainly E4 or E5 and other support mos have the scroll but no tab yet due to being brand new. Just like I was attached to the XVIII Airborne but no jump wings yet. Way way different I know. But good point and much love!

@@romile55 That they do! I've had a ton of 11B etc some of which were close friends say "DAMN! YALL 88M GOT INTO MORE FIRE FIGHTS THAN US!" I was 88N but at the time they were right about 88M. Crazy dudes right there lol.

@@ViktoriousDead yes! We're both 11Bravos, but I was already an E-5 Infantry, and had an E-4 and 3 E-3 in my squad, who just completed Ranger School! In the Infantry , you'll see, Regular Infantry, Rangers, Snipers, Ex Marines, Pathfinders, Sappers, and 1 or 2 SF guys in a Company, Platoon, Squad, this is common!

Isn't there a difference between being "assigned" to and "attached" to a unit? It was my understanding that being attached to a unit means that you are "assigned" to another unit but you are currently working with the unit you are attached to (therefore not wearing the attached unit's patch) and continue to wear your "assigned" unit's patch. That's how I remember it being back in the day. You would see people in a particular unit with different patches on and it was because they belong to one unit but was currently working with their attached unit. I was in a long time ago and have been out for a while so things may have changed with attached soldiers wearing their attached unit's patches. Good content bro. I like this kinda sht.

Two different "O" courses or Obstacle courses. Darby Queen is used during Ranger School and by Rangers at Ft. Benning. Nasty Nick is used during SF selection and by SF at Ft. Bragg.

I believe they factor that into their “wholistic” assessment of you as a candidate the second time around. My source: trust me bro

As an old scroll, Rangers are made in Battalion. People confuse that. Many made it through Ranger School call themselves Rangers thats not the case.

A Ranger Doc informed us that you’re not a real Ranger unless you have “Scroll, Scroll, and Tab.” (Deployment Patch, Unit Patch, Tab) Then he proceeded to make fun of officers with just a tab as “Short Tabbed” for short bus.

You automatically get to wear the Scroll once assigned to the Ranger Regiment since it is an identifier of the unit you belong to. So, you don't have to "go for" it. However, once there, regardless of your MOS, you can/may eventually get to ranger school. If you are not in the Regiment, then you can only go for the tab since it is a voluntary combat styled leadership school that can be attended by all MOS's.

​@@dlphil24Maybe it's just the way you chose to word it but, you can certainly "go for the Scroll" just as you would the Tab. You have to pass RASP to earn the Scroll, and you can enlist with a RASP slot in your contract or volunteer to attend RASP from any unit in the Army. There is also no "can or may" about attending Ranger School. If you're assigned the the Ranger Regiment you WILL attend Ranger School or you will be kicked out of the Ranger Regiment to a Conventional Army unit.

While in Regiment. When you want to move to a leadership position the tab is required. Most young guns get out before then. The higher you get in rank the more critical they get on you. Most dont wanna attend Rasp 2 lol
