Hey man I just subscribed. I have watched the first videos and wanted to fallow this rifle. I actully had actully watched your video 4 hours before buying this platform in .243win. I am a big savage fan. Your video was the desison maker between me trying out a Remington Varment or staying with the Savage. I stayed. I have only sent reloads throuhg my VT and it shoot them great. Evan thouhg the loads were built for a differnt chamber. I expect mine to do alot better after I tune them for the new rifle. I also bought heaveier bullets or match grade bullets for it hopeing to push the limits of the .243. Your upgrades are right on point the I actully never shot the bushnel. I mounted it on the old gun I sold and put the upgraded scope on the VT the Hour I got it home. Hey man I love your attitude and demeener. Keep it going and keep us posted.

I own one of these things and I couldn't be happier. Only mods I did was bed the recoil lug and add a bipod and it's a wonderful weapon. Shoots the 168 and 175 Sierra Match bullets extremely well. Only thing I didn't like about it was the detachable magazine. I have to hit it pretty hard for it to close. I also am having a hell of a time trying to find a better aftermarket stock for it.
@UhMrThePlague9 жыл бұрын
I just dropped mine in a Boyd's stock for the model 11. Had to sand the barrel on the stock down to fit for the heavy barrel got it free floated. But AWT has an aluminum stock that will work for this rifle, only it costs 900 bucks. Boyd's was only 100 so I wasn't too worried while modifying it.
@preppermadness622410 жыл бұрын
It's not the trigger pull as much as natural alignment, ran into that myself when I started using bipods. The rifle leaps out of position slightly, I cut shallow grooves into the ground fot the legs, or use small sand bags. None the less nice shooting !! Liked shared subbed.
@ThatDudeSirraj10 жыл бұрын
***** Man I agree with that statement 100%. Bench rests definitely are the best if an option but in prone, yeah getting that natural almost resting body position works wonders. In my snow suite I can just about fall asleep in the prone position with good alignment lol. Not so much in the summer. My ribs aint made for it. Find myself using more muscles after prolonged periods on the ground to counter the weight, making for a more "stressed" shoot. Still get er done tho!
@ThatDudeSirraj10 жыл бұрын
Yeah I keep telling myself to fill up some sandbags. I got an undeveloped volleyball court on the otherside of the property. I keep walking over it but too lazy to scoop some up lol. I'm going to build(or buy) me a nice bench setup tho. I'm starting to want to see those insane tight groups lol. Why not go for em right?
@preppermadness622410 жыл бұрын
***** For sure, after awhile I also started loading my own ammo, and developing loads for a few different scenarios such as hunting, long range and showing off...lol I like that Savage...Mine's a 10ba in .308 Using a 168gr berger bullet as my general purpose round. I"ve managed to achieve .5" groups of 3 at 250 yds, and under 2" groups out to 500yds. A lot of practice...Take care, and keep on shootin

Excellent shooting, I love my Savages. I have the same 11VT but in .22-250 and a 10T in .308...wouldn't give 'em up for nothing. Was wondering how the Mueller scope is holding up. Thinking about getting one. I know they're made in China so...
@TOPGUNMPD0810 жыл бұрын
New scope and decent ammo and it's shooting nice. Get some handloads done and you'll really rock. For good accuracy try H322 or AA2015 powder and 165 or 168gr bullets. Your rifle will drive tacks.
@derekthegreatgonzo8 жыл бұрын
I have the same scope on a .300 win mag. it will handle a beating for sure cause people know a .300 win mag has pretty heavy recoil. hear is the problem I have with this scope. I often shoot 1000 yards and further with this rifle. the scope only has 40 m.o.a. built into it. I had to put a 40 m.o.a. one piece base on my custom savage that started out as a bvss. I keep my rifle zeroed at 500 yards and use it for only long range work which is fine because I only use 220 hornady eldx bullets in it. it is my go to long range set up. I have used it out to 1400 yards with hits. this scope is great and for a budget build like I did works fine if you get the 40 m.o.a. base and use it. I normally use nightforce scopes on everything, but I was doing a budget build to show a friend of mine I could build a highly accurate rifle for under $1200. man did I do that!!

I like your reviews..if at all possible can you do a review on the savage 111 .270 with the nikon bdc combo? I just boughtbit and am planning on going to tge range tommorrow but would really like your opinion on the rifle.
@jaymartello910810 жыл бұрын
I just purchased that same model and caliber (on 8/1), did you break in your barrel, and if so, what was your sequence and process? I broke mine, I ran a total of 110 rounds. It basically broke at about 40 rounds. I did the 40 at 100 yards then went to 400 hitting steel not for accuracy per say, just to break in the barrel whip and smooth everything out in the bore. I'll be going back out to 100 again to fine tune and test grouping. I have the 12 FV in .223 running hand loaded 62gr HPBT's . It's a master piece. I know the 11 VT .308 will be the same. I'll be developing 168gr AMax's for it.

I've watched all your Savage 11 videos and was wondering what was the problem of accuracy you got in the first trip out? Seemed to be fixed in this video since your groupings were way better. thinking of getting one myself and was just hoping for an idea on what to look out for
@ThatDudeSirraj8 жыл бұрын
Hey, primarily scope mounts came loose. That was a pretty straight store to range video if I remember correctly in the first vid. I didn't snug anything. Other than that, the scope wasn't great but its worth keeping for a lesser gun or for a trade for later. This rifle definitely deserves a reasonable set of glass. Doesn't have to be a million dollar Zeiss but that wouldn't hurt either lol.
@chuckiswhite158 жыл бұрын
***** alright. i saw a comment mentioning the scope mounts.there's a package now that comes with a Nikon which is a good scope, i just didn't know if it was the ammo you were using, the scope, or the rifle's fault lol. thanks for the reply. subbing to your channel.
@ThatDudeSirraj8 жыл бұрын
+WV Outdoors Appreciate it! The Nikon packages don't seem to roll out as often. I'd definitely get that if the price is right.
@wrightconnection22048 жыл бұрын
Nice shooting! Why didn't you go ahead and give your windage 8 more clicks to the left at the 50 yard. distance and get your rounds in the bullseye before moving out to the 100yard range. Seems like it would have kept you from shooting to the left at 100 yds. Do you mind telling how much you paid for that scope and hoe has it been holding up for you. I'm considering the Primary Arms 4-14X44 ffp for $229 any suggestions/advice? Thanks.
@patdennis37516 жыл бұрын
For the money you'll be hard pressed to find a production built rifle that shoots better or even as good as a Savage. I love mine. Try reloading with some 168 gr Matchkings and some IMR 4064 powder and watch that group shrink in half.

@owens4178 жыл бұрын
how is the tracking on this scope and is the side Parallax accurate?
@ThatDudeSirraj8 жыл бұрын
+owens417 Tracking is dead on for the most part. It has been a while since I shot it so I may rerun a few tracking tests as I check the zero. Parallax was relatively accurate. I didn't focus on that too much. 0-100 seemed about right. 100 to 500 is bunched relatively close so when I was shooting at 230yrds I think it was, as long as it was somewhere between 2 and 3 I didn't really care how proportionate it looked. Hope that helps!!
@owens4178 жыл бұрын
+ThatDudeSirraj thanks for the reply. That's would be awesome if you did a video update on that scope. I've been thinking about purchasing that scope.
