I can not thank you enough Mr. Galagali! You brought back great memories. I remember this match like it happened yesterday. Karnataka team composition was strange, they had a specialist batsman Siddarama batting at No 10!! This match happened just before Indian team for the tour of England 1979 was selected and Roger Binny (or even Mandan Lal) was expected to get in but Yajuvendra Singh was picked instead due to regional politics. India completed that tour with just 2 pace bowlers - Kapil and Ghavri (with Mohinder Amarnath providing support) and they found temselves one seam bowler short on that tour.

Surinder Khanna was a fine WK and a hard hitting batsman.. Surinder Amarnath was a stylish left hander.. They were the KILADI JODI of the match...kannada film of same name starring Vishnuvardhan and Srinath was a blockbuster hit of 1978...Great memories... Brijesh at his very peak as a stroke maker.. What wonderful times they were... Fun filled 70s...

Glad you liked the background music too - it’s instrumental version I had professionally recorded of Jamaica Farewell, a tune suggested by BS Chardasekhar when I had asked him what music best suited the Subhash Gupte documentary.

I enjoy your videos, Thank you for compiling or restoring them. In this video, it is probably the only instance of Sunil Valson bowling video on youtube. Sunil Valson, 83 world cup winner, but have never seen a video of him bowling.

Wow.. great memory share by you Mr. Jay. Thanks. Those were days of Mumbai dominance in Domestic cricket. First time Delhi won and then Mumbai dominance reduced. Venkat sundram, Sudhakar rao, Surinder khanna were domestic heroes ...
