Does anyone else find it confusing that the Va’ruun skill magazines improve sneak attacks but the Va’ruun weapons can’t have suppressors?

I think you're seriously underrating the guns that can have binary triggers. It turns anything into a full-dmg machine gun. My go to NG+ gun is the unique Regulator "Elegance" sold in Akila. It has great mods preinstalled and comes with the very rare Shattering effect.

That is fair to say, I really don't like the feel of the binary trigger. I get why others really like it and it can be pretty fun to spam but I don't enjoy it as much as semi auto guns.

"Has a surprising amount of recoil for such a small pistol.." That's what is supposed to happen. The smaller the pistol the more the recoil. A large heavy pistol will have greatly reduced recoil. The extra weight diminished the recoil. A countermanding effect of a large pistol is they usually fire heavier grained rounds and so that will increase the recoil. All rounds being equal, a large pistol will have much less recoil. ..

Just a note on suppressors: the original "Silencer" brand was patented by Hiram Maxim's son. Maxim had invented the machine gun and spent most of his life testing guns himself. This absolutely destroyed his hearing. The suppressor was designed as a form of hearing protection for the user and to this day, that is the intended purpose. The noise reduction from a suppressor is not like Hollywood shows it. It takes a gunshot volume down to a loud hand clap on a pistol. Anything larger and it's still loud enough to damage your hearing. You can still tell it's a gunshot though. To achieve the nearly silent operation, the bullet itself has to stay subsonic which severely limits the range and "stopping power". You can run full power ammo through a suppressor, but they foul up and need frequent cleaning. They also put more stress on the internals of the firearm due to the increased pressure from the gasses. Assuming the Starfield concepts are the same general physics and ballistics as modern day, slap a suppressor on absolutely everything you can because that caseless ammo is perfect for keeping full power while minimizing the drawbacks of a modern suppressor. Even Grandma could shoot a minigun without going totally deaf that way. 😂😂😂 Loved the list bossman, keep up the good work.

I got a rare quality anti personnel hunter breach shotgun with 4-5 attachments including slugs on it by level 20 doing a freestar rangers board quest. It was a tough fight as the enemy was around level 50 and all my guns sucked at the time, but I scum saved and he dropped this bad boy. I never put a scope on it, so I never invested in snipping skill, but with the shotgun and ballistic skill tree invested in I was one shotting most enemies in the game until the very end of my very hard mode playthrough. Especially after I invested up to level 3 armor piercing. The only part that sucked was remembering to buy ammo for it. 15x25 is not the most plentiful ammo in the game world, but you are guaranteed to buy it at vendors if you remember to stop in the shop. When I first got the gun somehow I had around 375 rounds for it, so with the occasional ammo pick ups here and there I did not need to actually buy ammo for it until I was nearly finished with the game.

The varuun inflictor is by far the Most powerful weapon in the game 4-5k crit damage oneshots everything on extreme. Microgun and the magstorm do to Little damage.

Level 196 NG+10 here. The Hard Target and Va'ruun Inflictor with the Instigator and Hitman perks are so OP, I have to play on Normal or harder to get in more than one shot to kill. Furious on the Magshear is pretty much like spraying a waterhose full of bullets. The legendary versions of these are the only weapons I use.

I got a big bang by level 10 or 12 and got a instigating refined starshard real early like level 5. Was my go to sidearm til like lvl 50

@@PatJWilliams in my latest game I got a inflictor (hard difficulty) at level 30, wasn't keeping track of the big bang since I just swiped mine off Jake as soon as I had two chameleon pieces so I could get away with it lol. It really matters what difficulty you play in. Sometimes you just get lucky as well lol it is a looter shooter after all!

Great video; you put a ton of work into this, and I hope it pays off for you! Overall, I mostly agree with your choices. One thing I'd consider is DPS per kg of weight. If you're playstyle is Human Loot Vacuum, the weight of your gear is critical. Hard Target? Great gun, but if I can do the job with something lighter that gives me more space in my inventory for loot, I'll go with the lighter gun. Most situations in the game can be handled by a well-thrown rock.

Love the whole series and nice wrap up. My character is a space cowboy/freelance smuggler primarily gun running. Rocking 2 extended mag legendary Coachman’s (concussive and skip shot), 2 extended mag Razorbacks (Shattering & Demoralizing) and an Instigating Hard Target on the quick wheel. But do carry a shattering extended mag incendiary magshear as a just in case weapon. Weapon crate glitching pre patch has spoiled me with hundreds of legendaries lol 😅 but it took forever to land all the right perks.

Hellers cutter is the only cutter with a extra perk in it extra damage to robots . Nova disruptor is good in missions you need to sneak no kill.

I can't believe you did the Magshear dirty like that. It's the only gun I use, period. Actually it's the Revenant because it's like a badass Magshear with extended mag. I don't even mess around with anything else. Kills anything in seconds. I even give advanced versions to my follower.

Are you sure the Big Bang gets affected by ALL 4 PERKS? The perks say Ballistic "Weapon" & Laser "Weapon" but the big bang is considered a Particle Weapon

Thanks, I actually don't have a thing for the tier list because this was made by someone else and then I added in the modded weapons. You should be able to find the list on Tiermaker though, it's the one with Todd Howard dressed up as a teletubby holding a pump shotgun.

Pretty sure Energy weapons like Orion work better on robots/mecha, so weapons efficiency is contextual.

The officers Elemental Kodama is very good. Instigating , 25% fire rate and elemental Melts everything and procs bleed, fire, corrosive, poison and radiation. Set it to burst fire and the damage doubles and with the 25% fire rate you lose the fire rate penalty switching from full auto to burst. Amazingly underrated gun. At level 110 it was by far my favorite gun in the game. Is it the best overall in damage ? no , but fun factor wins for me and it damages every enemy type effectively.

Damage in this game is bad design IMO. It should be based on the ammo with small changes based on barrel length. Gun should affect accuracy, recoils, fire rate, reload speed, etc. a full auto should do as much damage per shot but should quickly shake off target. instead we get wildly different damage for the same ammo with the other differences being basically meaningless.
