Completely agree. And also depending on the location and the wings they got from their supplier, a lot of times their wings are big and meaty, with a good amount of sauce. I think the ranch quality is also location specific. But their bleu cheese is consistently one of the best anywhere.

Wing Stop's Hot Buffalo Wings with their ranch is the closest I've ever had to wing perfection. Maybe they make their ranch better in Texas than in Alabama, but it is truly delightful. And the wings at our local Wing Stop must be from Goliaths' chickens, because they have tons of meat on them! I'm from western New York originally, and the only chain wings and ranch I've ever had that were better than Wing Stop were at the original Wings 'N More in College Station, back in the day. What is vsg surgery
@EastSider4821511 ай бұрын
I had VSG about ten years ago. I’m not sorry I had it, but I want to emphasize that they aren’t kidding around when they say to be very, very cautious when you start to eat solid food again. Take a single bite and then wait about 5-10 minutes until you take the second bite. Your stomach is a lot smaller than it used to be and it gets filled long before you stop being hungry. The pain from an overfilled stomach is excruciating and you will end up throwing up a lot if you overeat. Also, your stomach is a lot more sensitive and some foods you used to be able to eat will also be very painful. Like I said, I’m not sorry I had the surgery, but I wish I’d realized sooner how to live with my new digestive system.
@GTMonica11 ай бұрын

@@marinemikeusmc6529: Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. It’s a form of bariatric surgery that is less invasive than a bypass and has similar success rates. In essence, it reduces your stomach to about 15-25% and it also reduces whatever it is that produces a hunger-causing hormone, and the end result for most people is a significant weight loss, which in turn alleviates many of the illnesses associated with obesity: heart disease, diabetes, you get the picture. It’s not a walk in the park, though, and each person’s recovery and results are unique to their own health situation. But one thing is for sure: you never will be eating again the way you did before (that’s not a complaint - that was the goal). What took me a very long time to adjust to is accurately judge the amount of food I’m going to eat (about 1/4 of what I think I want - old habits die hard) and to eat very, very slowly. Once my tiny stomach is full, that next bite is extremely uncomfortable, and the one after that is excruciating and I have to force myself to vomit. But I learned and that doesn’t happen anymore.

The last two times we went there, they cranked the music up in the party room to drive us out. The manager insisted they had no control over it except we actually watched her turn the volume up. None of us ever went back, even on our own. They had plenty of excellent flavors to choose from, but they were skinny. "Saucy bones" is an accurate description.

What was suspect to me is that the ranch affects the wings. How can you judge a wing by the ranch? I NEVER get ranch because I can handle heat and I think ranch is gross. In the Red Bank area of Lexington, SC we have a Buck’s Pizza that had the best wings around. Unfortunately, but good for him, the owner finally was able to sell the franchise and retire. His wings were perfect, didn’t charge for dipping sauces and was fairly priced. The new folks jacked up the price, now have absolutely huge wings and the quality tanked. Tried them 3 times since the take over and will never go back. Not far away is a Zaxby’s and no matter how many times I’m told “Yes, we counted and there are definitely 10 wings in the box”. But I’ve never gotten more than 9 and a few times only 8, this is for a 10 wing order. Once when calling to tell them they once again showed my order they actually said “Sometimes that’s just the way it works out”. I once watched the folks at Zaxby’s give my take out order to a drive through customer. Took them almost 30 minutes to get my order. Plus the local Chinese buffets have better wings. A chain in Columbia, SC called Leo’s was the best ever 30 years ago or so. Sadly they went away and no one since has come close.

Don't know if it was part of the chain or not (only been here for 4 years now), but there's a Leo's in Lugoff. Was not impressed. There is a food truck that goes around the Midlands, based out of Sumter, called Baby Susie's and holy crap is it good wings!

@@JLAracing That’s the original Leo’s. Didn’t know it was still,open.

That order seems about what I would of guessed. BWW and Hooters are probably the only ones I'm actually ordering wings from. I would of liked to see you include Wild Wings, but they don't have as many locations as some of these other chains. I also think getting Hot flavor would of given you a better gage of what a buffalo wing should taste like. Thanks for coming to my Ted to talk.

I've learned how to make my own Buffalo wings at home. I actually like them better than any restaurant because I usually pick the meatiest wings, bake them in the oven, then drench them with Frank's Wing Sauce. No one else likes Buffalo wings so I usually eat them!

Yes!!! This is exactly how I do it too! Wings should not be breaded or fried! ❤

Have you tried an air fryer? Makes really crispy wings.

If they have breading, they are NOT buffalo wings. It's just fried chicken with sauce.

I swear by Wingstop. They’re just a great variety of flavors and always sauced generously. Their Mango Habanero is my favorite.

Agree on the flavors and sauces. But the chicken is thin and terrible.

Wingstop is much better than your experience. Their Louisiana rub is my favorite.

Amen right here brother! Lemon pepper for me and mine, it's just so good to pair with a nice hard cider

I like Wingstop, but not for their original hot wings. The Atomic packs a nice heat but the original sauce is a lot more vinegar based and it's a bit much. I'll eat them on occasion to change things up, but it's their other sauces that are really tasty.

You are definitely a southern man if you are using ranch dressing. Yankees like me always use blue cheese.
@yourrejectallamerican11 ай бұрын
I’ve never thought of it like that. As a southerner, I prefer blue cheese but most northerners use it as well while the people here use ranch. Guess I’ve never thought about that.

Hooters was my first buffalo wing experience and my favorite for a long time. Then I discovered Buffalo Wild Wings and had a new go to. Then I visited the Wild Wings Cafe in Macon Georgia. Wild Wing Cafe is now my 1st choice! I think they are a smaller chain just in the south but they are by far my favorite now!

I’ve always thought that buffalo sauce was some kind of barbecue sauce. 😮 Hot sauce and butter? Interesting! (I admit - my experience with wings is limited.) 😂
@JeffKelly0311 ай бұрын
Yep. Melt some butter, throw in some Frank's Red Hot (for the most traditional experience), whisk it up, and you're good to go. It's about the easiest sauce there is to make.

If your wings are breaded, then they aren't Buffalo wings. Crispy fried skin on the outside, juicy tender meat on the inside and covered in a good sauce (Franks hot sauce, butter, garlic and a dash of Worcester). That's its, nice and simple.
@WhistlinDixie500011 ай бұрын
I'd say this was a pretty darn solid episode, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The weird flavor in the Zaxby's wings was actually Italian Seasoning. It's a really strange choice, but they've been doing it for a good while, and it's a flavor that grew on me over time. Especially when you mix that Nuclear sauce with their ranch. It works for me!
@cmay653611 ай бұрын
Wingstop ranch is amazing. I’m offended now!
@rianaconklin695411 ай бұрын
So many people believe that blue cheese is the better choice and all I can say to that is Who hurt you? Ranch will always be better, it's not a mold on its way to trying to become a choice condiment, it is already a favorite condiment lol thank you Matt for making this clear ❤😊
