Super easy to make at home, but you can also just use the Polynesian Sauce from Chick-fil-A to dip your fried cheese in to include these cheese curds that give a sweet and salty flavor to the meal. Did you say Freddy’s has lots of room to improve their burgers? No way man, they have the best of the fast food burgers. Only one close is Culver’s. But Freddy’s is like a combination of the best part of Culver’s and Steak and Shake together.

As a product of the Rust Belt, I'm tickled that a Southern Gentleman is attempting to discern the best Cheese curd. Although Culver's is an excellent fried cheese curd.

If ya ain't had *real* _fresh_ curds then ya don't know. Fried cheese ain't it.

Gonna have to revisit DQ's curds. Haven't had them in a long time, but them landing at #2 was a surprise. As a curd-lover, I agree with the rest of this list. I think you hated on Zaxby's a little much, but I'd still just place them a little above Buffalo Wild Wings, so its relative ranking was still good.

Update: I need to apologize to both DQ and Matt for doubting where DQ's curds stand. They were delicious, and a solid #2 after Culver's.

I think in honor of the upcoming 12 team playoff next season, you should do a playoff bracket for the cheese sticks.

I haven't finished the video, but Culvers better win. They don't play around with them fried cheese balls. edit: Finished the video. I'm a happy man who knows my fastfood curds

I'm so happy that Cook Out has made it onto Bless your Rank, but sad that it had to be the cheese curd episode. I like the cheese bites, but there are so many better options. Cook Out is for a Milkshake any time of day, and everything else past 1 a.m. When it's 2 a.m. and you need something to top off your night, Cook Out is your best friend.

As a Wisconsin guy, I'm glad you recognized that we have best cheese curds. We take our cheese very seriously here! In fact, I would recommend that you attend the Cheese Capitol Festival in Plymouth, WI in June or the Monroe Cheese Days in September (of even numbered years only).

Thank you, Brian. I will have to do that. Maybe you have a great suggestion to find the best restaurant that sells walleye nearby?
@wisconsineaglesfan79258 ай бұрын
@@michaelburtyk6080 Culvers does a walleye fish fry that is pretty solid at certain times of the year... I had it last week. Look for the "Northwoods Walleye Dinner" on the menu. You can also order online, or verify the location you are looking to visit has it.

As a person who was born in the South, lived there until 2007, then moved to Wisconsin, I believe I can speak on this. 1) Cheese curds alone are good, but I feel you need a dip. Raw dogging them changes the flavor 2) If you ever find yourself in Madison, I will happily give you a tour around my area to try curds in the Madison area. We have a place called Old Fashioned and they have tiger sauce and smoked paprika sauce for their curds and they're pretty amazing. But yeah. As North Carolina is where I was born...I can't imagine the curds down in that area compare to what you can get up here in the Midwest. Glad Culver's was included at least -- a Wisconsin special.

Tipsy Cow (Madison or Sun Prairie) has good curds too, and the Tipsy burger is on point. The alligator bites are interesting too if you are adventurous.

I appreciate you emphasizing that they are good without sauce. Personally I don't like them fried or anywhere other than an actual cheese making area. And I categorically refuse to eat *anything* that requires a sauce to be edible.

In order for cheese curds to be amazing, you have to eat them essentially straight out of the fryer. They are like french fries; you have to eat them hot. Otherwise, they won't taste great. Also, as a South Carolinian, I should be offended. But I do like both Carolinas, so I'm not all that offended. Both of them are great. Both have things that make them awesome (and both have things that aren't great, like too many Yankees moving into my particular city). Come visit us. You'll have a great time!

You are correct sir. Cookout is from the better Carolina (the North). You go there for the large amount of inexpensive food you get… but mostly for the milkshakes.

I have read many comments mentioning the dipping sauces. I frequented a bar in Madison while in college that had fried cheese curds (this was in the early 90's). I used to mix ketchup and Tabasco and dip them in that. Sooo tasty. I recommend you try it.

The secret to eating cheese curds is that they must be HOT..cold ones turn to rubber. And Culver's uses the same seasoned breading on their chicken tenders.

Cracker Barrel has some of these on the menu under their "Barrel Bites" and they are so freaking tasty...I love fried mozzarella sticks but it took me a hot minute to come around on the fried cheese curds...but when you get some good ones they are great. My only complaint about the ones on Cracker Barrel's menu is the price lol. I want to get them but I also don't wanna spend too much extra when I buy my meal which by itself is around 13, 14 to 15 bucks (depends on which meal I get)....add the cheese bites and we're looking at towards 20+. At my local Cracker Barrel an order of the white cheddar bites is $6.79 add that with the actual meal on top of getting something from the store...it adds up pretty quick lol.

Also extra comment, 90% of people in SC also agree that NC is the better Carolina. They only live in SC for the lower taxes even though they admit most of the reason NC is better is because we have things the taxes pay for. But they still choose the lower taxes. I'm not hating on it, I'm just saying that they still agree NC is better and choose lower taxes and don't get mad about it themselves

I have to say, I am surprised Matt isn't more of a fan of Cook Out. They are a phenom. What a double burger? What's your side? How about another double burger? Or chicken nuggets and a corn dog? The drink? Ah just give me a Cheer Floats. That's amazing.
