The CTA will open a new station on the green line at Damen. It has a modern glass roof, a tower, an overpass and tells you on the sign where the two exits lead. Thoughts?

Interesting take. The only one I would strongly disagree with is Clark/Lake, which I'd rank quite a bit higher than you did. While I've seen a few homeless people on the landings there, I've never seen any actual crime. I've seen far more sketchy things in the Adams/Wabash area.

I think you are going off of perception rather than reality if you think 43rd & 51st are the same in terms of crime rates and livability. The 43rd area in Bronzeville is significantly safer and experiencing a lot of redevelopment / gentrification with upper middle class black residents moving in. The story might’ve been different when the State Street Projects were around but Bronzeville today is on the up and up. IMO you overuse “sketchy” as a descriptor and it’s not one I would weight that heavily given how subjective it is (Clark/Lake for example - sure there’s some interesting characters but it’s also one of the busiest spots in the system so I’d be more comfortable there than a completely empty platform). I do think you have good commentary on the station infrastructure and usability though.

there is a transfer up top at pulaski but it’s at the front of the platform when u first enter but people rarely use the crossover i’ve barely seen anyone up there the last few times i was there

What is your definition of sketchy? With the amount times you’ve used it in this video, everything must be sketchy or something

I’ve always wondered if a Green Line extension from Garfield to the East Side of the City would benefit them over there. I understand they have Metra but I think there’s a lot of people that just actively choose not to use it. I could be wrong through EDIT: GARFIELD IN TOP 3 LET’S GOOOOO 🗿

I would like your take on the Brown Line. I have ridden most of the rail lines. The twists and turns, along with the views are, in my opinion pretty cool. So after you do Pink or Blue, consider Brown!!!

It must be tough coming up with these ratings given a high crime rate in Chicago. “This station is terrible because of the sketchy neighborhood and criminal activity”. That is probably the work-in-progress description for 50% of the stations

the green line is the only line i wouldn't take because of the neighborhoods it goes through. the rest of the city is relatively fine.
