I always felt that Drift being evil all along in Cyberverse was completely wasted and could have been further used outside of giving Hot Rod a new paint job.

The Cyberverse Drift pissed me off because the twist came right out of nowhere, it has no purpose in the story, and go against Drift's character. But none of this matters because he's dead. Although, not sure how Hot Rod survive though.

I always headcanon the drift in "Battle for Cybertron" as Makeshift who either offlined him or heavily injured him and take his place after successfully sneakily into the ark as one of the autobot soldiers, being sent by Megatron as way to make a example out of Drift on what happens to traitors and deserters who abandoned the Decepticon cause

8:10 fun fact. The reason why the AOE (and, to a slightly lesser extent TLK) toys were so scuffed and simplistic was because parents kept complaining to hasbro about the toys being too complicated for their kids, and that they'd end up breaking because of it, so all the figures had to have significantly simpler transformations to solve that problem (that is also around the time the boxes tarted including the "X steps!" Blurb on the box). Although likely not the only reason, this is why there were both voyager and deluxe Drift figures with separate alt modes instead of just a single triple changer toy.

Thanks for doing a design ranking on my favorite Transformer of the franchise! I do hope that he will appear in EarthSpark as well (I think Daisuke Tsuji would be a perfect choice to voice Drift in the series) and maybe the new Transformers comic book series by Skybound. My favorite Drift design is his pre-Earth design. I was disappointed with what they did to Drift in Cyberverse.

8:55 The words on Drift swords in game means "forget" and "forgive" on his katanas and on the great sword there is "penance" and on the other side "vengeance". I saw it on tik tok and I'm using it for my cosplay :))

Hes very anime and kind of gundam looking with the head fins and white on dark grey! Subtle but you see it. I hope he shows up in Earthspark, it would show a nice Defector historical lesson to the kids

My favorite is Bayverse red version. I also like All Hail Megatron IDW, IDW Earthen form, Animated, Robots in Disguise 2015, Age of Extinction, Forged to Fight, Earth Wars, Cyberverse, Deadlock Cyberverse, and Deadlock G1 inspired purple version.

The 1st design (Earth mode) you showed is the Drift that I know and struck me hard. There's just something about his head design that looks like a crown that just drew me the heck in. His Deadlock design was also chef's kiss to me.

IDW Drift's design is the coolest one,i really wish in Legacy line we getting a new toy for Drift,or else i need to get the old classic toy but it's not cheap nowadays,unless i can find it with good price,you forgot to include Flame Toys Drift but be real is just IDW Drift Cyberverse Deadlock's design it's based off G1 Springer,yea Deadlock there weren't many design of official,ever 3rd party toys are also less too BTW take care in holiday season my men

Ok I had this weird idea but wanted to share. I’d love to see a story where Deadlock and Nightbird dated, or at least had romantic feelings for one another. Then, when Deadlock becomes Drift and joins the Autobots, we could have a love story along the lines of what silver bolt and black arachnia had in Beast Wars.

That mold for voyager drift is not very good. The thighs like to swivel a lot due to transformation and it swivels up ish so the figure just loses balance all the time Its the same as skyhammer from DOTM

I personally like the bayverse Drift but man that universe has a problem with give characters development, arcs and growth. I personally would say Drift is somehow a racial sterotype i feel like it's the same situation with the twins, where they're adapting or appreciating human culture. I understand the too humanoid part i heavily dislike it despite me liking Hound. I also prefer RID 2015 Drift i like the color scheme, the body frame and overall design.
