Greece winning the EURO was special for us , in greece we dont really have the infustracture to produce what other countries have although we have latin american style culture with football. Its very rare that players make it out like Manolas playing for big italian clubs or more recently Tsimikas being scouted off Olympiacos to Liverpool , our win that year i guess is proof that there is a diffrence between a strong team and a good team , a strong team is likely to win , a good team pulls off the win .

Being Danish, I remember 1992 so well. We even made a movie about the achievement, as we were really the biggest underdogs that year. Until Italy's most recent win, Portugal was clearly the 3rd nation in the Euros. 1984 was heartbreaking for us. 2000 was an overall outstading tournament and Portugal delivered. 2004 was shocking and we should've won it. 2016 was ugly but finally gave us what we've been deserving for a long a time.

@@norbert0036 wrong. italy had one cup in 68 and a lost final in 2000. Portugal won it 2016 and lost it in 2004 but was in 84, 2000 and 2012 semi finals. Italy never went that many times to a semi final so you're wrong. go sleep now

While it's a big mistakes for this case in video, remember that 2020 group has Iceland or Hungary being one of the opponents for Portugal as a potential play-off winners based on the draw. Indeed, Hungary made through at the end.

Considering the development, you are probably going to do the Copa America at some point. It should have a different tiering system though: There were 19 participants so far (the 10 Comnebol members plus guests Mexico (10 times), Costa Rica (5), USA (4), Jamaica and Japan (2 each) as well as Haiti, Honduras Panama and Quatar (1)). Out of these 19, 8 have won (all Comnebol members except Venezuela and Ecuador). Therefor, the list would be a bit bad if everyone who won it simply featured in S tier. So, it would be good to split S tier into 2-3 tiers (S+/S-) to split things like Brasil's WC 2002 (all wins) and Portugal's Euro 2016 (more draws than wins; at least, their two extra time wins were against their two strongest opponents on paper). Or, you might make it a different thing altogether. Since there would be fewer countries to go over, but actually more tournaments held (since 1916 or so, I think there is some debate which actually was the first one), you could showcase everyone's two best runs (except the four one-timers). Bolivia and Columbia would get one below-S-tier run in this way.

They could still qualified if England won against the Netherlands without conceding a goals, while also needing their own win against the Switzerland. Had Patrick Kluivert didn't score in the 1-4 loss, Scotland would have faced France instead in the quarterfinals. Asking about England and Norway, the women's counterpart did won the Euros than the men's side. For England's case, they had a misfortune of becoming the country to ever won Euros for both genders in just 2 separate years (considering the women's counterpart took place a year after the men's one), and the only country to do so at home soil.

Albania in F? They deserved atleast a D ranking. They were probably the most unlucky side in the 2016 Euros. They put on good fights against Switzerland barely losing because of a last minute Sommer save. Against France they conceded at the 90+ minutes.
