i think its ranked by how true to character it is and how they utilised their abilities. also ones like predators basic match finish, it has the iconic spine skull rip but also a scene of his collection.

Not at all. We can’t rate these fatals on nostalgia if they hold up with modern over the top fatals then they will get placed higher. But for an unbiased rating you cannot look at the older ones and rate off nostalgia

In my school vr game Goalius just got 2 fatalities, first is Sonic Storm (he charges in attacks then bounce of a wall than attacks again then repeats like 200 times before A Train the victim which he ends with a Roar) and the second and far more shocking is Urbosa's Wrath (he snaps his fingers causes 2 bolts of lightning 1 supercharges him the other blows the victim legs off, than he charges in and used The Musou no Hitotachi from Genshin Impact but ends in the classic Baraka pose)

I feel a lot of these would rank higher, if you knew what getting cut feels like. I sliced the top of my finger once with a knife, and I still can kinda tell how it feels to have a part of you sliced up. That's why I feel fatalities like Smoke do deserve a higher rating. My ranking on fatalities is a bit of a mix. I don't look at them as a way to kill someone, I look at them as a way to entertain. Like, if Shao Khan was watching it, sure, the guy might be long before the end, but it sure was funny when his skeleton just popped out unharmed. But then I also add what it would feel like to get fatalied. So, being in a cloud of smoke and just parts of you being sliced off, it just hits me in a different way, because I've been through a lesser version of that, and it still haunts me.

Idk what it is, i LOVE haviks second one because it is gruesome from both perspectives. 1, havik maims the ever living fuck out of you with jagged bones, 2, his body falls apart as hes doing it, probably worse than his opponent’s. Ill agree the ending is pretty weak but the camera angle of him splitting you from the neck down with his exposed bone just makes me wince. Theres gory but theres also less exaggerated gore like that. If you were to compare blowing someones arm off vs pulling fingernails, the latter would make me turn away watching that. Which is why i can appreciate it more. Ps i sound crazy asf😭😭

Yeah, it felt weird back in MKX as well. It kinda feels like more could've been done with Ferra's smaller size to make this one stand out. Perhaps an alternative fatality could have her stab the opponent in the gut with her claws, but then jump to the side and swing herself around them, carving a spiraling gash into them on the way up, looping around their head, and then spiraling back down, intersecting with the upward cuts. After touching the ground again, she could rip her claws back out to follow through with the motion, dislodging the unfortunate opponent's side, revealing that they've been hacked to pieces as they fall apart. That sounds like a more interesting fatality than what we got, yeah?
