As someone who has unfortunately had Healthy Choice before, they missed a step which is why it’s dry. The sauce is under it - there’s two bowls. After heating, you’re supposed to take the top bowl and dump the vegetables etc into it and stir it together. It’s easy to tell in the video, as you can see the sauce on the bottom through the bowl and can see the holes in the side of the top bowl where you’re able to pick it up. Not saying it would have redeemed it, but that’s why it was so dry and you didn’t see the sauce.

@@HCG Technically youre correct but eating before sleeping can cause other adverse effects. Such as bloating and gastrointestinal distress. Its for those reasons that people say dont eat before you sleep. Also you can gain a significant amount of weight in the immidiate short term if you eat before you sleep. You can see it if you weigh yourself daily, you may wake up the next day up to 4-5 pounds heavier than you were the night before. This wont effect the week by week trend, but it can effect your weight quite a lot... its just in the short term rather than the long term. It is still strongly supported to eat 2-3 hours prior to sleeping.

All of those "Healthy Choice STEAMER" meals have an extra step to the prep. It's got TWO plastic plates. The first holds the actual food, and has holes on the bottom. The second deeper plate has all the sauces, and when heated the steam from the sauce helps cook the food above it. So when it's done cooking, you're supposed to flip the steam plate food into the sauce plate and mix it together before you eat it. My mom bought a few of these and ate 3 of them before I figured out she was just eating the dry cooked food without mixing it into any of the sauces underneath it. Also, even though Stouffers wasn't the Home Alone mac and cheese, it was the brand on the box of ROAST TURKEY DINNER that the mac and cheese was placed on top of in that scene. So you combined them. It was just a trick of the mind.

people still think you get kidney stones from eating too much salt and they're hilariously even more specific and say sodium when 80% of kidney stones are made from calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate which comes from vegetables. its basically a calcium rock, there is barely if any sodium at all. the reason is because people eat alot of vegetables high in calcium which the body cant break down and the kidneys find hard to filter since theyre a larger molecule. just drink enough water and dont worry... oh also eat more salt

Grew up next to a Marie Callender’s restaurant. It was a treat going there as a kid. You walked in the big, double bronze and wooden doors and the first thing in the entrance is the pie display. Chocolate, blueberry, etc. The food was amazing and the portions were huge, and they covered the table in paper and gave us crayons so we could write on the table. I still buy their chicken pot pies sometimes... Hell, I even buy those Banquet brand ones sometimes. $0.99 each and 400+ calories, they got me through college. Also ya gotta mix in the crust with these pot pies before eating them. Makes them way better IMO. If you’re fond of the halfling leaf and get the munchies, add a spoonful of Yoshida’s teriyaki sauce in the pie (Delicious fucking death by sodium).

I gotta say, this was VERY brave of you Hunter. The green/blue lighting hovering over the close ups of the finished product of the meals makes them all look horrrifying. Like a goosebumps episode Also, I was waiting for the review of a Guy Fieri frozen dinner to be the famous “Oh, that’s gangster.”

I grew up on frozen chicken pot pies (specifically Banquet 💀) and while I haven’t ate one in a long ass time, they were banging when I was a kid. I think the key was cooking them in the oven.

I do have to say that it is really refreshing seeing a dim-lit video, where it's not just full of studio lights, and blasting the place with brightness. Feels just a little more relaxed and "vibing".

Oh god no. The cool lighting makes me want to burn my eyelids with cigarettes. If it was warm, nice, calm lighting it’d fit the family-frozen-dinner night MUCH more. This cool lighting is a god damn sin.

Love how he didn't even finish making the healthy choice pot pie. It's a two part bowl that you dump the top one into

Really bummed that they didn't realize the Healthy Choice in the pot pie section has all the sauce under the bowl with the main ingredients. The sauce being underneath is supposed to "steam" the meat and veggies (hence their "Cafe Steamers" name.) The couple of times I have had one of their bowls from the freezer aisle, they were surprisingly good for a microwave dish. Definitely a disservice to eat it without any of the sauce Papa!
