Harry spent 10 years enduring abusive conditions and with absolutely no friends and - unlike Draco - he chose to reject his toxic upbringing and treat people with kindness and decency. He constantly put his friends and fellow students above himself even when they turned on him (which happened on more than one occasion). Not to mention that when the chips were down, he was basically always the one who got the job done. Quirrell, Basilisk, Dementors, Voldemort multiple times etc. In the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, he - along with Neville - was still standing when the Order arrived while everyone else had gone down. He was the only person smart enough to deduce the correct path of the Elder Wand and thus figure out that he actually had the advantage when everyone else who knew about the wand assumed Voldemort did. He figured that out in the middle of a huge battle. Good luck to anyone else in the entire series piecing that together in those circumstances. Not the first time either; just by watching Malfoy's behaviour in Diagon Alley, he deduced that Malfoy joined the Death Eaters, which nobody outside of Dumbledore (who already knew) believed. Harry's logical/tactical sense is very underrated. And in case anyone forgot...he willingly walked into what looked for all the world like a certain death sentence when he allowed Voldemort to strike him down, just so the world would have a chance to defeat him. Sure, he's impulsive and quick to anger, but all that does is make him human. His kindness, empathy and courage far outstrip his flaws and bear in mind, he turned out to be a truly good person even while a piece of Voldemort was literally living in him. Wearing a Horcrux as a necklace was enough to amplify a person's negative traits, so imagine how much worse it would be with it actually merged with you. That Harry overcame that and an abusive upbringing to still be so good is a strength of character unmatched in the series. Also, small thing, but his sassy snark is up there with the Twins and Ron for best humour in the series. Harry Potter is an amazing character and a truly extraordinary person

Bill and Charlie were adults living on their own, and she had no say over what they did, Fred and George were of age, but still in school and at home, and she wouldn't even let them set in and listen to ordered meetings. In DH while at the Burrow she did everything she could to keep Harry, Ron, and Hermione from having private time together so they couldn't plan anything, and she made Ginny stay in the Room of Requirement during half if not most of the battle, she was only able to join the battle because Harry, Ron, and Hermione needed to use the room. There's a little rub, though. Dumbledore was unable or most of all unwilling to see that Grindelwald was a dark wizard and that he was on the edge of becoming a very dangerous dark wizard himself and Aberforth could not get him to listen to reason. I feel like Parvati should have been in the brave tier, just like Dean, since the main thing that put him there (fighting with Travers and Dolohov) was done by both of then together, not Dean alone. Not only that, Parvati also stood up against Pansy Parkinson, defending Neville in book 1 and she also always stood up for Lavender and Professor Trelawney against Hermione's witty and somewhat insensitive remarks in the early books, which shows her courage to defend her friends and people she admires, something some of her classmates like Seamus and Lavender never do. I could make a similar case about Katie Bell: we might not see her fighting much, but she stood up to defend and help people, like when she defended Hermione against Draco and Marcus Flint when they called her a mudblood in book 2. And honestly, you have to be brave to keep playing quidditch with the amount of times Katie had the quaffle get thrown in her face and it would break her nose.

For all those wondering why Peter Pettigrew was sorted into Gryffindor, I always saw it this way. Remember when Harry said I’m not as good as you to Hermione and she said “humm…books and cleverness. There are more important things like friendship and bravery.” Many people think Hermione should have been in Ravenclaw because she is so intelligent but I think you get sorted into the house of the traits you admire most and want to be. Like with Neville, he started out the opposite but became the bravest because of the influence being in Gryffindor had on him. Peter Pettigrew admired people who were brave and strong which is why he gravitated towards them even though he didn’t possess those qualities himself. Peter had the potential to improve like Neville did but ultimately failed. A hint at his potential goodness though is when he shows mercy to Harry and Ron in the Deathly Hallows but Peters bravely was all too late.
@briesullivan883

Spending 12 years in Azkaban and standing up to his own family whose belief were what mattered the most is quite really brave if you ask me… - He wandered around Hogwarts for an entire year while having many dementors. - He also wanted to be a secret keeper for the Potters. To me, he belongs to the bravest list even though I agree with the « reckless » argument.

Great video again. Maybe you could consider doing the same style of videos for the other houses with their traits. I agree with most characters, but would put Arthur higher because of the fact that he had enough courage to work at the ministry in the seventh book, even though he knew every day that he put himself in danger for being part of the Order of the Phoenix. As always it was fun to watch again.

Your take for Albus Dumbledore is crazy. Yes he didn’t want to battle the person he loved. Fighting someone you’re in love with is the hardest things to do and yet eventually he did it. He dedicated his life live right and took up arms against Voldemort twice. He saved Harry and in the end gave his life to help destroy Voldemort. If that isn’t the bravest thing i don’t know what is

I think Sirius and lupin should be in the bravest category because not only did they lose the people closest to them, Sirius was in Azkaban for a crime he did not commit and he agreed to be the potters secret keeper which meant certain death. lupin should get points just for being a werewolf and being brave enough for coming to teach at Hogwarts when Dumbledore asked. he also showed bravery in his missions for the order

7:23 I got some arguments for Molly. Yes, she took down Bellatrix, but she also stood several times up against The Order and Dumbeldor on what was best for the kids. She also tried to keep the kids safe at all cost, like breaking up the Golden Trio to keep them from planning, even when she knew they would be both frustrated and angry with her. And keep in mind that the only Ginny was underage, so the others could have just left and cut ties at any time (not that they would have (Percy excluded)). And I think that shows a lot of bravery, when you take in to consideration her biggest fear was to lose her family, both litterly, but also figuratively, as shown through how badly she wanted to mend things with Percy. Not sure I would put her in the bravest, but I would have put her higher on the brave tier❤ Also please make this type of list for the other houses too. I am dying to see how slytherin looks😂

Lol, Percy not brave? Alright, I guess him helping protect the school from an escaped “mass murderer” as Head Boy, helping stop a rambunctious mob started by Death Eaters during the Quidditch World Cup, and fighting in the Battle of Hogwarts doesn’t count for anything. I’d even argue that him siding with the Ministry was extraordinarily brave, going against his family to pursue his dreams and the career he spent years working on. Hate him all you want but Percy *is* brave and an awesome character.

I would argue that Arthur and Molly deserve to be a bit higher, maybe bottom of the Bravest tier. For one, they knowingly treat Harry like one of their own kids despite knowing their association alone could have their lives on the line. It’s no easy task to live their lives how they do with the thought of “at any moment, our children may die” since they know Harry Potter is at Hogwarts and it’ll only be a matter of time before tragedy strikes.

@Aspen_Suxs

I actually think he has many of the traits of slytherin. Almost everything he did was in the name of self preservation. Constantly joining up with more powerful wizards who could protect him? Self preservation. Framing Sirius for the potters death? Self preservation. Living as scabbers all those years? Self preservation. Also, despite everything he was quite cunning and resourceful. Him cutting off his finger before going into hiding to make everyone believe he was dead shows cunning. his using his animagus form to hide all those years shows resourcefulness. Also him hiding behind people more powerful could also be seen as resourcefulness, as he knew he wasn’t strong enough on his own so he used the resources available to him to keep himself safe. And obviously leadership is a trait of slytherin house so it could be argued he shouldn’t be in it because he is very obviously not a leader, but we see from many slytherins in the series that said trait isn’t always present
@mangahell8177
@mangahell8177 3 ай бұрын
@@Aspen_Suxs The thing is his self preservation only extendents to keeping himself alive nothing else so it's limited, he's cunning only when it truly matters not on a regular, resourcefulness allright let's be honest to our selves half of the character in HP would be in slytherin if we go off them being resourceful plus his momments of resourcefulness feel more like camon sense than anything else and he simply doesn't have ambition or leadership. I disagree with Sirius. He is the bravest tier. The main reason is he demanded to go to the department of Mysteries to save his god son despite risking his life again in Azkaban. He rather save his godson and potentially be caught then stay at home in safety. Even Voldemort wasn’t brave enough to go to the ministry in case of capture. On top of this, he stud up against his family’s pureblood mania; was part of the Order of the Phoenix in his late teens; bravely came back to England when Harry needed him in the Goblet if Fire; and remained in his childhood home for the order - which took a lot of psychological and emotional bravery.

Neville and Lupin are like polar opposites as kids but both ended up being among bravest. Where Neville lacked bravery as a child in the more typical sense he was brave enough to stand against his peers which Lupin could never do. Meanwhile Lupin was able to partake in the Marauders schemes as well as just freely exploring the grounds and Forbidden Forest with his friends in his werewolf form. Both would grow into much braver man than before but it’s interesting to me that Neville only grew braver and braver in all aspects where as Lupin would still struggle to face and oppose those who were amongst his friends and peers

If it was for facing Tom Riddle when she was 11, Albus not only faced Tom Riddle Jr AKA Voldemort, but he fought him and won by a landslide and dis that while protecting Harry. I agree with some of your points, however ordinary Bravery, not superhero bravery is what can separate some people apart. Because bravery is subjective, what you are afraid of (and over come) is different to the next person. You might find something easy that someone else finds brave. Albus may have found dueling and magic easy and so would not have had to have as much courage to do those as others, and so as we see him as brave for those he sees those as slightly challenging activities. However, The things that really challenged Dumbledore, such as telling harry he had to die was something out of his comfort zone, and so he was not brave enough to do it. Ginny was pushed out of her comfort zone lots and managed to not only cope but thrive shows real bravery that Mabye even conquerd Dumbledores. Not saying she is more skilled (she's not ) but that's just my thought process.

@@itssimplylolaASMR Makes sense the relativity of bravery of Ginnie and Albus. But I think that is still an exaggeration to not place Albus in the bravest tear and to place Ginnie, just because she was taken out of her comfort zone in things as ordinary as her personal life that didn't impact the wizarding world as much as Albus deeds, that indeed must had required some sort of bravery. Arthur goes in the bravest tier for me. There was never a fight he wasn't part of...he worked guard duty knowing Voldemort might be the one coming to get the prophecy, and he created a law ..with loopholes...so he could get away with experimenting with Muggle stuff.... AND, there's the fight with Lucius Malfoy. But, the icing on the cake is actually one the movies glossed over. When George was injured, he would not "allow" Kingsley to slow him in the slightest in getting to his son. Sure, he wants to make Molly happy ..it's his wife. But, when it comes to his children, Arthur is very scary. And, if he had been close by, I have zero doubt HE would have taken Bellatrix out, not Molly. There's a few changes here and there....and Id leave out the video game stuff....but pretty logical take on this Brave list. Also, i dont see Dumbledore as "cowardly " in those actions....just overly protective. He has Snape kill him to keep Draco from falling to "the dark side" permanently, and it's TRUE he avoided the fight with Grendelwald longer than some would like...it was like fighting your brother. I wonder how many people would rush into a fight that would lead to your brother's death....just after you MIGHT have killed your sister. The MOST cowardly thing Dumbledore does is.. .he never finds out if HE accidentally killed Arianna. It was something he couldn't face. Tgif! 😊

I remember reading a while back on pottermore that Neville was nearly a hatstall because the hat wanted to put him in Griffyndor and he said he wasn’t brave enough put me in Hufflepuff. So glad the hat won on that one. Now with Peter I feel like it’s the reverse of that. He had met Lupin, Sirius and James on the train and knew they were cool. The hatstall was because the hat wanted to put him in slytherin but he begged for griffyndor because of them and the hat eventually gave in. It’s just how I see it.
