Glad to see the Magic dagger respect. But I'll have to disagree with the rainbow rod placement. It's super easy to get after the twins, great attack speed, good damage, piercing and the best part is the homing. Letting you focus more on dodging. Just dont hold down attack like what you show in the video but instead spam click to let the homing do it job.

Trust I did do that! I test these weapons out on like 5 different bosses when recording I just can't say I'm a fan of it compared to other weapons I can get at the same time!!

I personally think the Wand of Frosting should be higher since it's easily the best weapon from normal chests, same with the vile thorn, I tested it against WoF and JESUS, having a weapon that infinitely pierces and it's stationary, really crushes the hungries whenever you use it with another weapon. Nah I disagree with the Rainbow Rod, first of all way more usable than all the other weapons in F tier and many of the C tier, second of all *Homing,* third of all *IT PIERCES* if you kill The Twins first you can use it for Destroyer probes, Prime's limbs and Plantera's hooks, and fourth... the prettiest projectile out of any magic weapon. Both the Rainbow Rod and The Nebula Blaze have an special place for me, since when I played Terraria for the 1st time I had a ton of fun using them. Also thanks for mentioning the Magic Dagger, many people sleep on how good that weapon really is. The main issue with the Stellar Tune is that it's a 2% drop 💀. And even tho I kinda agree with the placement, I'm pretty sure Magnet Sphere is meant to be used as a support weapon and not a main weapon (since the projectile is active for 15 seconds).

Listen I am just a rainbow rod hater!! It does have the prettiest projectiles tho this is true. And the magnet sphere I still think the highest I'd put it is C tier even as a support weapon It just moves away from where you might need and you'd need to constantly go and recast it!!

Great list overall agree with most placements. However I really disagree with the magnet sphere placement. You just need to cast it every once in awhile and then switch to other items and you do so much extra damage. Its one of the best utility items imo

U put rainbow gun and magnet sphere in F tier. And im here to tell u that u don't use them as they r supposed to. Those weapon is what i like to call a set up weapon. Meaning u set it up and switch to something els. Like nimbus rod, rainbow gun then magnet sphere then toxic flask. If u can master the set up and switching then u deal a ton of dmg. And can even make u invisible with spectar healing set

I still don't think they're that usable!! The best part of the nimbus rod is thay you rarely ever have to recast it but these 2 get out of the way or dissapear so easily!!

If youre using spectre armor the homing of magnet sphere heals you a lot, and its one of the most mana efficient weapons in the game

how can bubble gun be c tier? it's like one of the best mage weapons, killing empress in like 26 seconds, and one of the few that's high risk high reward.

I think the risk for it only works on a FEW bosses and after that its use case is almost non existent compared to weapons in the same time frame! I still think it’s a fun weapon to use!

@@lilywalilith i'm pretty sure bubble gun excels at most of the bosses that are available after duke. golem, empress, and moon lord with aggressive plays can be defeated despite the risk. bubble gun even had a range increase, so the range is actually pretty good for what it is, especially when the enemies chase after you. i suggest placing it in b tier, as the ludicrous damage output alone, coupled with an actually decent range makes it a pretty good option.

can you not switch off of the magnet sphere and use a different spell book while the orb is out? i think there's something to be said for these thing that fire autonomously and can be used to just increase DPS without actually having to do anything / recasting every like 7 seconds.

some things ratings on the tier list suffered from being found too late in the game, yet there's a lot of stuff that is ONLY good early game that is in S tier. Like idk i feel like nothing pre-hardmode should be in S if that reasoning isn't also applied to stuff you can find later !! u silly lady, but i guess this is an interesting way to do a list like this if you're talking strictly about how good they are around the normal time you would find them so that makes sense !!

But I can see that a lot of my rankings may seem odd and that's bc I record and write these out over a couple of days so I may be off between those 😅

Sky fracture or crystal serpent are pretty cracked. And for the destroyer i used the spirit flame, the projectiles pierce through blocks, but the lasers of the destroyer dont. So you can kill all the probes and damage the destroyer from total safety if you hind behind some blocks.

Like the other comment, crystal serpent is a really solid option for twins/prime and for the destroyer you can cheese with the spirit flame or the meteor staff, the meteor staff can also be really really viable for all 3

just something, don't use the rainbow rod by mouse. just let it go and spam click so it can hit the enemy by itself and do a cool nebula arc to hit it again like the spectre armour but three times

Offensive spectre armor passive effect!! Defensive does a similar effect but heals you instead 🫡

watched this video solely for the rainbow rod /hj ever since 1.4 i havent gone a mage playthrough without using it lmao it looks beautiful, pierces, has an aoe explosion, and homes in on stuff!! but if you try to use it for its cursor-following capabilities, it does kinda act a lil awkward good stuff other than that placement though. id give rainbow rod A or B

I very rarely play mage, but thunder zapper being so low surprised me. It's pre boss, and if you're lucky not too difficult to obtain (especially compared to demon scythe) with very high fire rate and decent dmg. Also I'm confused, crimson rod can't be F tier because its free dmg...but magnet sphere and rainbow gun are F tier??? Betsy's wrath is S tier and I'm sad they missed it so narrowly. If you thought Ichor was an OP debuff this magic weapon gives a debuff which is TWICE as potent, making it viable for EVERY CLASS AND BUILD. Heck you can use Betsy's wrath and swap to a higher range magic weapon. Worse placement, but I understand every other spot. Ice rod is S tier.

I'll be honest I hard disagree with a ton of their takes, and can't take most of their opinions here seriously because their gameplay often features them using the weapon in an incredibly suboptimal manner. Like actively leading the Empress of Light AWAY from the Arcanum projectiles instead of finding a time to turn around and lead her into them. Or using the Magnet Sphere by itself when it's meant to be a secondary like the Nimbus Rod or Clinger Staff. Plus, imo, the inability to aim gravity-bound projectiles is a massive skill issue. Betsy's Wrath is, for its own support function, an outright superior version of the Golden Shower. Your inability to compensate for gravity does not change how good the weapon is.
