Terraria max mana regen is actually busted... Maximum mana regeneration stat. With us now having looked at both maximum magic damage and mana reduction, I thought we'd next take a look at the wonderful stat that is maximum mana regen. Fun fact: Getting a Crimson world no longer requires making a Corruption world, as you can now combine a Panic Necklace with a Mana Crystal at a Tinkerer's Workshop in a Graveyard biome to craft the Band of Starpower (or combine a Band of Starpower with a Life Crystal for a Panic Necklace)

This kinda reminds me of playing the 3Ds version as a kid and using the hilariously broken combo of Celestial Cuffs and Spectre Armor… For context, the only headpiece for the Spectre Armor in this version is the hood (the healing one), which doesn’t have the damage reduction or any of the other many nerfs it has on PC. Using a fast weapon like the Razorblade Typhoon you can go from pretty much dead to full health in about 3 seconds. As most people probably know, the Celestial Cuffs restore your mana when you take damage… You can probably tell where this goes. As long as you are attacking and taking damage, you have effectively infinite health and mana.

That just means whatever you're fighting has to kill you in two seconds, not three. Try the For The Worthy seed, Calamity's Infernum, and Fargo's Souls Eternity if you dare...

The treasure magnet helps out with getting the nebula buffs, since it increases the range where they get automatically picked up (from personal experience a while ago, idk if theyve changed this or not)

Mana regen (and really, many other stats) need a reforge* that improves it. There only being, like, 2 class specific reforges is a damn crime. *Accessory reforges. Felt like that was obvious but you never know.

Whenever I play mage I gravitate toward this king of "build" like you said the band of mana regen really does the heavy lifting for most of the game and the potion is a nice addition. It's nice to be able to keep your damage potential at maximum without having to chug down mana potions. A few seconds of repositioning or changing weapons is enough to get your mana back up to full, it's very nice.

I used to completely forget about the vile thorn, but in my recent playthrough, I got it from a corruption orb, decided to actually use it and it performs quite well considering you can get it within the first day! And now you've got me wondering if its hardmode counterparts are worth trying..

All you need is mana regen potion so that you can regen all your mana by not attacking for about 2 seconds, rather than stopping to wait for the damage decrease. This also means that you don’t even need a mana flower and can have an extra accessory. All up to preference though
