I noticed that some of the Creator Monsters are based on background monsters in the web episodes like the cats girl the three eyed ghoul, the puma boy, the werewolf ghoul and the Dragon ghoul appears on a magazine with one of the wave 2 dead tired dolls

The Elissabat look alike too! She has a fight with Howleen in the Fright On! movie and also gets hit on by Heath at one point (where she looks a bit uncomfortable but the vampire ghoul next to her gets visibly angry…lesbians?? /hj)

Something I always thought was fun. About half of Create-a-monster dolls were designed after webisode background characters. Specifically the three-eyed ghoul. She actually had the beanie in the show, but she also had black socks in the show too. Something else about Create a monster that I always thought was a smart move, they used these dolls as a testing ground for new ideas. The Dragon, Skeleton, and Blob actually predate Jinafire, Skelita, and Gooliope. The Siren predates great scarier reef. The whole line could even be the inspo for freaky fusions. I do wish they would make a character doll of a harpy/siren.

19:59 we have her, she's a "color me creepy" c.a.m. Her color change is on her legs and arms and chest. Her eyes and lips react to warm and cold, also.

I agree, I don't like mixing and matching the pieces. It would prefer if they had 2 different designs of the same monster. Like 2 vampires or 2 sea monsters, that made more sense to mix and match. Or... they could just put more thought into designing the pieces so they actually good in different combinations. I wish they didn't have wigs. Or at least had better quality wigs. I don't have any CAMs yet. I really like the inner monsters. I love the transparent torsos and the different eyes (especially the eyes with hearts). I will buy a couple eventually. My wish list is so long 😩

I wish Cleo was fully bandaged like the CAM mummy. Don't worry about the video being too long. Its boring to watch ranking videos when someone doesn't explain why they hate/love a doll. Thats the entertaining part. I love hearing others opinions on dolls even if I don't agree I thought that machine was so cool but Ive seen people post photos of the results on Reddit. They look sooo ugly its hilarious 😆 I would love to see them try this again with updated technology.

Im surprised she was rated low too! I would prefer her to Skelita if she had rooted hair. The bad wigs let the CAM dolls down imo. I get why they did wigs but maybe they could have used hair that changes colour in hot or cold water? Or used better quality wigs

As far as I knew, the reason most of them had no torso/thighs and upper arms was because ALL of the packs from the first run of C.A.M was add on packs for the original playset (the one with the temporary tattoos). We never got the original playset here in Australia, sadly, or a lot of the packs. We got the twin packs though and I saved up for them for ages, still have them in my collection now too.

I remember being very angry that I couldn't find any of the add on packs being sold not second hand. I just had to deal with having scattered parts unless I got lucky at the thrift store. I did get lucky and find Liv doll wigs on sale to make my dolls a bit more unique!

I only had a few Monster High dolls growing up (6) and 3 of them were the Create a Monster dolls. I really liked them and managed to get all three back from the place they've been the last 8 or so years: my mom's classroom. They definitely need some TLC but I'm so happy to have them back!

What a fun video! I still have the puma, vampire and gargoyle boys. It was so frustrating that some packs didn't come with torsos. I ended up cutting the lower limbs off a Bratz fairy for my bee girl

I remember seeing these in stores but didn’t realize they never came with torsos or thighs. Very interesting. I didn’t think I’d really care for any of these but I love the vampire and sea creature set (more the vampire but I’m biased toward vampires 😄) I like the concept of the werewolf and dragon pack but don’t think it quite works as well as the previous set for me. I think it’s the cut of the dress for the ghost because it reminds me a lot of Cave Club! Okay wow yes to that harpie one! Yes the puma boy should have had regular MH cat ears. I really like the Mermaid tail and the curly hair though I kinda think the face is a little boring but everything else about her looks really good! Okay the two packs are definitely the best, I really like the cat and witch (I like both clothing pieces a lot but I don’t know fashion 😅) And yep I like the two boy pack of the vampire and gargoyle too 😄 I’m so sorry but I don’t care for the blob and ice girls that much (I think that pink skin is too pink for me) though I do like the ice girl’s body! Oh man I wish they had done molded on bandages all over Cleo’s body like this mummy girl! I’m so sorry you lost the color change girl playset 😢 I do not like the ones with the molded hair at all (excepting the gorgon girl cause like you said that made sense!) I like the concept of the inner monsters but I can’t get past their outfits 😂 I do like the idea of that last create-a-monster, I honestly thought they’d all be more like that 😄

Mmmm maybe? The ones that come with no hair or face paint would for sure be more appealing (at least to me) as a cusotmizer because it’s like buying a pre-primed doll haha. But also price would be a huge factor imo, like if I can get a Drac on sale for $10 that comes with clothing that can also be repurposed, then this type of doll would be hard pressed to seem worth it to me. I hope that makes sense 😅
