Actually, Wendy's castle battle is easier than you think. If you’re Fire Mario, you can shoot her while underwater. You don't have to jump on her every time. Edit: But if you don't have a Fire Flower, then you have to avoid the rings underwater. Just because they move slowly underwater doesn't mean it's easy.

Yeah, the fortress stage is smaller with Skewers on the sides and over lava, but the castle fight is shockingly worse. Morton's ground-pounds raise the pillars surrounding him for a moment. It feels like a waiting game, but the pillars can crush you if you're too close. However, you have pretty much the whole screen giving you room, so it's easy to avoid. Overall, Morton's fights are decent in this game.
