Seeing all of these variants just goes to show how much more personality Nintendo hardware has. I actually like some of the more eye catching ones like Pikachu or Creeper. They are wacky and fun, much like the games they represent. Even though I have never watched One Piece, I have to agree that it belongs in the top tier.

The box art for the galaxy edition really didn't do the 3ds justice compare to looking at irl. It's not the best looking one, but it definitely isn't as ugly as a lot of people thought it was

A bit late but my favourite 3DS XL's are the Hyrule Edition (bought this one recently), Majoras Mask, Monster Hunter Generations Red/Blue, Monster Hunter 4 and the Kingdom Hearts one. In terms of 2DS I like the Pokeball Edition the most. I also get my hands on the New 3DS DBZ Butoden. I love the Faceplate so much ^^

The last DS I purchased was a 3DS XL in the default black color a really really long time ago. about a year or two back i found a super Mario New 3DS XL traveling case in a woodsy area when I was on a hike and inside was the Super Nintendo edition New 3DS XL and 8 3DS games (all looked brand new). Back then it sat on shelf’s for retail now it’s like $400 in good condition. Moral of the story: some kid definitely got his ass beat.

Great complete ranking. I had like 37 different 3Dses. Now down to 20 or so (wife made me sell them). The Doraemon one must be the most exclusive one, besides some from Pokemons contests. Only 3 were made and they were given as a lottery in Korea. Currently have both yellow Pikachus, the Charizard Japanese one, Year of Luigi, the grey Dream team, a Chinese Que red model, both Smash Bros, a green solid Mario, the NES (my favorite) one, the Eevee Japanese, the Pokemon Sun and Moon, a red 3DS XL, a blue 3DSXl, the Disney one, the Zelda small 3ds, black 3ds, pink 3DS, the leafy colored one from Animal Crossing, a checkered red and white one with half of mario's face (sealed; missing on the list). Some of the "3DS" are in fact 2DS Xls (Pokeball and face Pikachu). Forgot I have the Personna Q (blue one) and the red Yvetal (sealed). BTW, the other from Animal Crossing is a companion for the Home Designer game.

Something I believe that I'll always remember is that Japanese ad promoting the new 3ds and it being customizable with the different face plates and introduced the theme shop with some new characters designs for Nintendo characters, started the dad bowser concept with this bubbly song from kyary pyamu pyamu. Just something that made me cry a little inside of how 7 years just went past me

I actually only have one 3DS in general and it's the blue Smash Bros Edition console. Got it for $200 last year and I'm so glad I got it before the Eshop closes.

I'm heartbroken because I have the NES version. The only reason why I got this one was because it was the last 3DS XL edition Nintendo launched before the New 3DS, and I wasn't going to pay that much to replace my regular red one at the time (it was used), but ouch. I really like my NES 3DS. I'm also a sucker for the North American SNES scheme, and that one hurts too.

My favorite one is hylian shield 2ds xl then comes Samus, new super Mario bros 2 3ds xl, Pikachu new 3ds xl all yellow, super smash bros and Persona Q. The I don’t like at all will be the Minecraft. I want to get Shin Megami 3ds ll it looks good.
