I didn't agree with everything, but putting With You in 2nd place is an absolute W choice. I really liked it, and felt it was nice for the final season, and now knowing it was the final English opening for Ash, I still felt it fit, as it had that sense of the journey always continuing and it being the "best part", as long as your friends were at your side, which was basically what the last episode of Aim to Be a Pokemon Master invoked. The one thing I wish it did was include more visuals of Ash's friends from the fourth Japanese opening of Journeys, but, it didn't need that to be a great opening

Your number one choice is the MOST nostalgic for me because I first got into the Pokémon anime through Black and White: Adventures in Unova, so the fact that you put it at number one makes me happy. Of course, I just love all the Pokémon themes. Gen 5 admittedly has a soft spot in my heart because I watched the Gen 5 anime first, but even then I can say every season has amazing theme songs.

3:33 The Japanese version of XYZ is actually pretty fire 🔥🔥🔥. I might even rank it my NUMBER ONE favorite theme song, if the OG Indigo league wasn't so nostalgic. It has an AMAZINGLY animated scene that builds up to Ash-Greninja's fight with M. Sceptile, which didn't make it into the English dub.

Ok, i have to say. To me, after all the DP openings end, it only has great opening songs, really, BW has AMAZING songs, so does XY/XYZ (to me), just like SM and Journeys, and seeing how low the XY openings AND Journey To Your Heart are gets me more annoyed than you are because of this song, like, how can you even be mad at this opening? Journeys has 3 openings, and to me, ALL THREE should be AT LEAST top 10, and unlike you, i do think that the Ultimate Journeys one is my "least favorite" out of the three, and it's still really good, but like, i have an playlist of Pokémon Openings, that i always listen when i am playing something that i like, and it has ONLY Openings from BW, XY, SM and Journeys, as well as two openings from Advanced, being the first one, and OBVIOUSLY Umbeatable, it's straight up THE BEST opening from the first four gens SO EASILY, like, it's not even close. Since i am not one to be thinking about nostalgia, to me, gen 1 and 2's Openings almost don't exist, like, i actually like the XY Remix more than the original (somehow), just for an example, and gen 4 doesn't have my "favorite openings" either, while Hoenn actually has two amazing openings, and both of them are pretty low here. I know that it's all about opinion, but i've NEVER heard of someone putting Umbeatable THIS LOW, like, it's catchy as heck, it's pretty good, and has a nice song and visuals, nothing insane, but not worth being this low. I respect you a lot because of what you did with the BW and SM openings, and people can have different opinions on some openings, but come on, you can't just put Journey to Your Heart and Umbeatable this low, you literally just can't, it's illegal 🙃

When D&P came out I was going to high school and I still loved Pokémon but didn’t have a DS I remember CN doing a preview of the new series and had the first 3 eps out and after I saw chimchar I was ready to get back in the game. I was lucky that a friend loaned me his Ds and I ended up getting pearl and loving that game and I was excited to have a real challenge with Cynthia. This is before I had easy access to the internet so everything I did on Pokémon up until I think gen 6 I did blindly and I miss those days This was a ramble and not a real comment

17:02 You think? My rose-tinted nostalgia goggles cracked with every addition to your list. Fair enough, though-I started Pokémon during Gen 3, so Battle Frontier is my all-time favorite theme. That, along with Advanced Battle and Advanced Challenge, went hard. I wasn’t a big fan of the Diamond and Pearl themes at first, but the first one eventually grew on me. The Black & White openings were cool but not very memorable for me, especially the last one. I didn’t really understand the significance of it at the time-I just liked the music. My opinion hasn’t changed: I still feel Black & White had weaker openings overall. However, Sun & Moon is definitely Black & White’s saving grace, because its openings didn’t resonate with me either. I played them once and didn’t revisit them until watching this video. Now, XY is on another level. On the Japanese side, the music is better across the board. I do like Stand Tall and Be a Hero in the English versions, though the first opening didn’t really grow on me. That said, it’s still better than Sun & Moon’s. This was my first time hearing any of the Journeys openings, and I have to say the last one is the best. The others didn’t leave much of an impression. As for the U.S. Aim to Be a Pokémon Master opening-it’s like the other renditions of the first opening. It’s okay, but this one does it better by softening the tone, fitting for the final season. Even with Journeys serving as the end , it’s bittersweet for a epilogue season . I didn’t say anything about Gen 1 or 2 because what is there to say 😂

I love most of the theme songs, while there's a couple that I'm not too big on personally. That said, it hurts seeing most of my favorites on the bottom 😭. I grew up with gen 3 (not the first season of gen 3) and gen 6's opening are bangers, with stand tall being too darn catchy. Orange islands does hit you with a lot of energy, and is just really catchy. Visuals aren't too important to me personally tbh, but that's a me problem. I'm kinda wanting to make my own ranking now and see where it goes. If I ever get it done I'll post it as a reply to this.
