Lee enfield should be mentioned despite being a free DLC. It's very quick , no damage fall off over distance (same as any other rifles with effective ranged longer than 420 m), very stable aim ( down to 9mm aim stability), decent stopping power, very quick fire rate for a bolt action, lots of scope options. An all around rifle that stands out at agility, range and stability.

I always knew that the M1903 Springfield would take the #1 best based rifle in the game. You can’t go wrong with this rifle no matter the situation. I’ve used this rifle in campaign, survival, and multiplayer, and it has never let me down not even once.

The M1903 for me is my go to. It allows you to zoom in close, keep slient, lots of ammo mags and you can fire off a lost of rounds quickly.

Good breakdown. A bit different to my own ranking, but there's nothing wrong with your reasoning. It's just down to which attributes you prioritise, and whether or not the available upgrades suit those preferences. For me: 1. Kar98K 2. M.1903 3. Gewehr 43 4. RSC 1918 (really underrated, best rifle for invasion) 5. SREM-1 6. M1A Carbine All 6 are very good though, used in the correct way.

My favorite rifle is the Winchester 1885 (in-game, labeled as "Win & Co 1885"). Yes, it's single shot, like many high caliber, high powered sniper rifles, but it does easily manage 50 rounds per minute, so it's almost a shot a second. Use it in close combat only when you must. But out at the distance where snipers prefer to live, the massive .50-110 WCF cartridge does devastating damage. With 259 HP, a hit anywhere on the body will kill with a satisfying corpse spin in the air. I like picking off a soldier who leaves his leg hanging out while hiding. The range of the rifle is only 240 meters with short barrel though, so don't choose it for your record distance shots.

I love the Winchester so much, that if I type "I love the" into my phone, Winchester is the next suggestion.

I used the mosin as the first playthru rifle. Loved it in se4, love it now. I dont use it almost at all bcz i do love doing stealth take-out-everyone-on-the-map runs with non lethal ammo and takedowns. I think i used the rifle 4-5 times to take out some annoying sniper from distance and the mosin more than capable of doing that. If i feel like taking out one guy and one guy in particular, win 1885 is my go-to. Neither of the 2 have any finesse or versatility, but they hit like a truck and i love them

I do like how this game made most guns viable for different playstyles, K98 is really good for urban sniping for example. But ofc you'd want to go with the 1903, because it's just a beast when it comes to everything!

I mean historically speaking it makes sense that the Springfield is the best rifle. It's a development on the Kar 98 which was considered a great rifle on this list.

Have been waiting for this list to drop. Agree with the rankings made here as I had the same feelings with each though am surprised at first the M1A Carbine made it to #2 and not the Kar98k though when comparing stats the Kar98k only has power in it's favor and nothing else whereas the Carbine pretty much excels in everything else (Mobility, Control and Fire rate) as mentioned in the vid.

As much as I love the sniper elite series I don’t think that 5 is “sniper friendly” sure there’s moments here and there but I feel like the game mostly promotes short to medium ranged combat and is more pistol/SMG friendly than past titles.

6:11 You said that the Kar98 has a large variety of customization options and can therefore be versatile. You forgot to mention however that the same can be said about the M1903 Springfield as well. Like you can customize it to become capable of one shoting Jeager Troops even on the limb at greater ranges than a Kar98 can.

I think that depends on difficulty. On authentic, you need to do about 225-230hp damage to one shot a Jager with a limb shot, and 150hp just for standard infantry. You can just about reach 150hp with the Springfield, but the M40 receiver makes it insanely loud, which means you can't really play with a bayonet. The advantage of the K98K is that you can have 165hp damage and 930m/s muzzle velocity, without the audible range going above 140m. That means you can use it with a bayonet, without worrying about alerting the whole map every time you pull the trigger. It's a much more versatile weapon. The M.1903 is best for pure range, the Winchester is best for pure stopping power, the K98K is best if you want a good amount of both.

@@DeletedScenes312 having a loud audio range doesn’t really restrict you from attaching any bayonet or muzzle break options onto your weapon. Also, why would you run a bayonet is audio range if that big of a concern to you? Just simply add a suppressor to your rifle if that’s such a big concern for ya, besides the Springfield has much more variety in terms of rifle suppressors than the Kar98 does. You also forgot to mention that the Springfield has the best muzzle velocity in the game. Which make it a whole lot better when shooting enemy players that are on the move when you’re playing multiplayer or invasions.

@@Jknight416 I like having a bayonet, because it's useful for dealing with Jagers at close range, and it's also the best way of clearing trenches without causing alerts. Liking bayonets doesn't mean I want to be ridiculously loud though. It's still useful to keep the audible range down to somewhere around 140m or below (definitely below 150m). I know the M.1903 is the best for long range. I know it has the best muzzle velocity (although anything over 900m/s is fine for most shots up to about 600m range). The problem is, it's too loud if you want a high damage version. I like 4 key attributes in a rifle. 1. A bayonet. 2. 900m/s or better muzzle velocity. 3. 150hp or better damage. 4. Audible range below 150m. The K98K can have all of those. My version (with a bayonet) has 930m/s muzzle velocity, 165hp damage, 140m audible range. All 4 ticked off. The M.1903 can only achieve 3 of those 4, not all of them. You can have a bayonet, 150hp damage and 163m audible range, but that's too loud for me. You can have a bayonet, 148m audible range and 132hp damage (my favourite Springfield configuration), but that doesn't kill with limb shots and it's still louder than the K98K. You can have 106m audible range and 150hp damage with a suppressor, but then I haven't got a bayonet for trenches and Jagers. Honestly, the M.1903 is brilliant. If you don't use a bayonet, it's the best rifle. It's just less versatile than the K98K for players who do like a bayonet, like me.

With respect, I’ll rack up 20 kills in multi with the SREM. Overpressure kit, optimize for power, and as you say, get head shots. I use it as my only rifle in multi, all modes.

It's a great rifle to use for axis invasion and survival. The Gewehr is the better semi-auto when you need to be quiet, but when you don't, the higher damage of the RSC coupled with the slightly better aim stability and manageable recoil makes it the best choice. The slightly lower fire rate doesn't matter, because it's the recoil that limits when you can fire the second shot, and the 280m effective range isn't a problem for invasion or survival. A headshot will still get the kill at 400m+, and you need a headshot with it's competitors anyway (including at ranges under 280m), because none of them do enough damage to guarantee a one shot torso kill unless you're playing on a lower difficulty. I don't even mind the smaller magazine, because you don't need as many bullets as you do with the Gewehr or M1. The RSC is seriously underappreciated. Stats alone don't tell the full story. It's not the best choice if you're playing campaign, but it excels elsewhere.

Read the title and watch again commenters, I don't agree with a couple, but gameplay is the only reason; very fair rankings for average player new to the game IMO. for standard weapons... Do a DLC primary weapon with standard as a comparison, too soon as a new one just arrived, but only one does everything NOW, yes its DLC and primary, IMO Sec and handguns also...

Please make a video on how to customize all sniper rifles and specially mosin nagant and his components. I think they changed the whole rifle in elite 4 the scope design was very awesome but in 5 I think they disappointed me.

I do not understand why the M1903 is in every Snipre Elite games the best or one of the best rifles. Historical thats not true. The gun was not bad... it was really good. But their were better sniper rifles in this area and in europe. But back to the game: I like the kar98 more than the M1903 because of the gunsound and the firing animation. The recoils with a springfield looks... wrong, extreme in SE4. Also the sound with surpressor from the kar98 sounds better... more volume.

Mosin was the latest rifle to be added in SE5 though it it a very average rifle. Not completely bad but disappointing that it's not a one shot weapon like the Win & Co/Kar98k
