The Evolution Of Shotguns In Sniper Elite Games

Because of how triangulation works, shotguns are ironically some of the sneakiest options for a secondary, especially those that can kill at range while still killing in fewer shots than an smg.

For shotguns, here is what I think the next Sniper Elite game should include (along with the Drilling or Trench Gun, and the Sjogren Shotgun): 1. The Winchester Model 1897 or "M97 Trench Gun". (Pump-Action. Can Hold Five or Six Shells, along with 2 different Calibers [12 Gauge and 16 Gauge]. The Model 1897/M97 was equipped with a Perforated Steel Heat Shield, and Bayonet Lug for the M1917 Bayonet Knife). 2. The Winchester Model 1912 or "M12" for short. (Pump-Action. Can Hold Six 2 3/4" or Five 3" Shells, along with 3 different Calibers [12 Gauge, 16 Gauge, and 20 Gauge]. The M12 was also equipped with a Short Barrel, a Perforated Steel Heat Shield, and a Bayonet Lug for the M1917 Bayonet Knife). 3. The Ithaca 37 (Pump-Action. Can Hold Four, Five, or Seven Shells, along with 4 different Calibers [12 Gauge, 16 Gauge, 20 Gauge, and 28 Gauge]. The Ithaca 37 Has a Barrel Length of 20 Inches for WWII Soldiers. Although, Some Ithaca 37 Shotguns for the US Navy Seals have a Ventilated Handguard and Bayonet Adapter [Could be modified in-game]). 4. The Browning Auto-5 (Semi-Auto. Can Hold 3+1 or 5+1 Shells, along with 3 different Calibers [12 Gauge, 16 Gauge, and 20 Gauge]. The BA-5 has a Barrel Length of 28 Inches. It was the first Semi-Auto shotgun to be mass produced, for which it was made from 1902 - 1998). 5. The Remington Model 10/10-A (Pump-Action. Can Hold 5+1 12 Gauge Shells. The Remington Model 10/10-A Has a Barrel Length of 30 Inches, but was Reduced to 23 Inches for Use in WWI and WWII). In-Game Firearm Stats (Based Off of Realistic Stats): For the Winchester Model 1897/M97 (I'll use the "Trench" Version). Action - Pump-Action. Caliber - 12 Gauge (5 to 6 Shells). Length - 997mm (39.25 Inches). Barrel Length - 510mm (20 Inches). Weight/Mass - 3.6 Kilograms (7.93 Pounds). Sights - N/A. Additional - Perforated Steel Heat Shield, Shorter Barrel, Sling Swivel, M1917 Bayonet Lug Adapter, For the Winchester Model 12 (I'll use the "Trench" Version). Action - Pump-Action. Caliber - 12 Gauge (5 to 6 Shells). Length - 1,017mm (40.04 Inches). Barrel Length - 520mm (20.63 Inches). Weight/Mass - 3.6 Kilograms (7.94 Pounds). Sights - N/A. Additional - Heat Shield, Sling Swivel, Extended Tube Magazine, M1917 Bayonet Lug Adapter. For the Ithaca 37. Action - Pump-Action. Caliber - 12 Gauge (4, 5, or 7 Shells). Length - 1,000mm (39.37 Inches). Barrel Length - 508mm (20 Inches). Weight/Mass - 3.29 Kilograms (7.28 Pounds). Sights - N/A. You forgot to mention the drilling can reload shotgun ammo into it if you shoot your rifle round The game reads you have rifle ammo, but no shotgun ammo, and the game will give you 2 shotgun rounds since that is the default ammo it uses

The thing I find most annoying about the change to the drilling in se5 is that it's no longer a drilling gun, its just a triple barrel shotgun. A drilling gun means it is a gun that has 3 barrels, 2 for one caliber of ammunition and 1 for another caliber of ammunition.

Hi T Wilson! I'm posting here as I think it is your most recent video, even though my question is off-topic to this video. I am on my 1st play-through of SE4 after having played SE3 forever. Your videos are the best ones on SE4, IMHO. But there may be a category that you haven't covered: "What are the best *loadouts* for each mission?" This idea because although I can look to your videos for rankings on, say, best long guns, not all of those guns are unlocked at the start of each Newbie mission. If I have missed this topic in older videos, my bad. Othewise I think it a decent idea for another ranking video about SE4. TIA!

In the X Ray kill the slug becomes a pellet after piercing through an enemy. Also the game shows only a single pellet when firing buckshot... they never fixed it.

I use shotguns only with slug ammo. STG44 is better.
