Tour London Loop: pretty simple track, though the Chain Chomp roams freely on the track is a nice touch. It also fits being in the Rock Cup as a reference to "rock music". GBA Boo Lake: nice to see a course with an underwater section + anti-gravity, but it feels too short. Could use some more tracks with underwater sections in future waves. 3DS Rock Rock Mountain: anti-gravity on the slope is nice, don't like the cartoony art style. Wii Maple Treeway: an anti-gravity halfpipe is nice, the looks and color design of the track is quite fitting, not much else to say. Tour Berlin Byways: the track looks great, and the music sounds great. Not much else to say. DS Peach Gardens: the new route in the final lap with a glider ramp to glide over the maze section is just amazing. Merry Mountain: pretty cool Christmas track with an anti-gravity section. 3DS Rainbow Road: love the neon track design and the anti-gravity section on the moon.

Great tier list as always! While I'd personally move the tracks around in each tier, I overall agree with it: -3DS Rainbow Road, Merry Mountain and Maple Treeway are definitely my favorites of this wave; -Boo Lake is a fantastic GBA remake and Peach Gardens was the biggest surprise thanks to that change; -Berlin Byways and London Loop are great city tracks; -Rock Rock Mountain, while not the best visually, is still a really fun track which is what matters the most to me!

With Maple Treeway and Marry Mountain having those ramp parts in those tracks, there's a high possibility that Mario Kart Wii Rainbow Road to show up in the booster course pass now. Although I rather much prefer the GCN Rainbow Road over Wii, even DS and GBA. Because I've never played those ones. Plus GCN Rainbow Road has the best music track out all the Rainbow Roads in the series.

I'd personally would love Wii Rainbow Road, as MK Wii is what I played as a kid - but 3DS MK7 Rainbow Road is here!! And, most importantly, it looks FAR better than I thought it would, given the simpler graphics of several of the Tour courses and Coconut Mall. I got my favorite Rainbow Road, and was pleasantly surprised :') so I got everything I wanted in that department. I wish switch game sharing wasn't so funky and dumb, as I haven't bought the DLC due to needing to *also* buy the $60 base game *all over again*--which I have save data for, I just can't play because I used to share my brother's account's digital copy when we shared the same switch. And I didn't know I'd be booted out from playing it on my account when I got my own Switch.😑and i don't have money to spend on games right now, and i don't want to ask for something I can already play through my brother's account for Christmas... sighh... I hope to play it some day.

I disagree on the city tracks, I find them on the whole to be pretty unimaginative and less exciting than other tracks. Sydney Sprint is really the only one I enjoy, I just feel like they can do a lot more than they have with those tracks.

This is my favourite wave so far alongside with wave 2. If Nintendo included these tracks for wave 3 then it would have been my favourite collection Wuhu Loop/Maka Wuhu at least one of those and Rosalina’s Ice World but Rock Rock Mountain and Rainbow Road are still really good but not my favourites.

Rock Rock Mountain (I’m from the states lol) doesn’t look that great sadly, looks like a wave 1 track. But as you mentioned, the fun factor is definitely still there and I still love it.

Great list. Here are my Wave 3 rankings and thoughts: Overall this is easily the best wave so far. Every remix hits and there is no dull track. This makes ranking them very hard but I’ll of course do them based on my preference and 200cc. Rock Cup London Loop is a very good city track. I never played it before so it was new to me. The graphics look insane and the course feels very different every lap which is a good thing. Chain Chomps are crazy on the track too, some of which are freely roaming. One of the best parts is the remix. The original music was terrible but they made it sound incredible! Overall this ranked number 3 for me. Boo Lake is a spooky track and definitely better than Twisted Mansion. The underwater part is neat and so is the remix. However there is tough competition so this takes the number 7 spot. Rock Rock Mountain plays amazing. So many shortcut opportunities, especially with gliding. The remix is INSANE and the final climb up the mountain is so fun. This track takes the number 4 spot. Maple Treeway is a classic and a great track too. I was a bit worried on how it would handle in 200cc, but it handles great. Not to mention how fun the half pipe is. The remix is amazing too. This ranks number 5 for me. Moon Cup Berlin Byways…need I say more. This was the track the got me back into playing Tour. The music is incredible and the track needless to say the same. There is so many obstacles, shortcut opportunities and more. There are so many landmarks you pass by too. The track is chaotic around the moving traffic but in a good way (not you Baby Park.) Maybe it might be for my bias towards European countries but this is easily a top 5 overall track for me. Without a doubt this is number 1. Peach Gardens is…alright. Many shortcuts have been nurtured or removed. The track just feels like straightaways and right hand turns on 200cc. The chain comps don’t pose as much of a threat like how they do on London Loop. However the third lap is very unique so it helps out a bit. The remix is great too. What upsets me the most about this track is we will only get one more DS track that will be Delfino Square or Airship Fortres. These are my favorite DS tracks and I would much rather have them than Peach Gardens. This unsurprisingly ranks 8 for me. It’s not bad, it’s just mid. Merry Mountain is very holly and jolly. The journey up the mountain is very fun as you pass through a village and a train track. Going down is a little underwhelming but it’s still very fun. The music and theme is incredible tho. This takes the number 6 spot. Last and certainly not least is Rainbow Road. For me it’s not the best Mario Kart track of all time as many claim. It’s not even my favorite Rainbow Road but that doesn’t stop it. The track feels like a journey that keeps getting better and better. The music adds to it and makes you forget how hard the track can possibly be. Some turns have been made more gradual which honestly doesn’t hurt the track. It’s awesome and comes in at the number 2 spot. So hyped for wave 4!

London Loop is surprisingly accurate to the actual layout of the part of London it covers. Not all of it of course, but the section around Buckingham Palace, St James' Park & Big Ben is pretty close.

Overall, I don’t go by tier lists because I usually just have opinions about some of the tracks, and just enjoy a lot of them (Besides 3DS TC, you know what I mean), and Wave 3 certainly had my expectations met! Also, thank you for letting me join your stream on Wednesday, I really loved it! I was also surprised how well I did when racing against everyone! Thanks again, and I hope Waves 4, 5 and 6 all entertain us in future!

Merry Mountain is probably my least favourite track in the whole dlc so far. I do agree that it looks amazing, but everything else about this track is just very boring to me. All the turns feel really soft, there's no cool shortcuts to try and there isn't an obstacle of any kind anywhere across the whole track. The track also just feels very short and a third of it is just a straight path with nothing on it but a single ramp and 2 boost panels. I'm glad people like it, but personally, I just don't find it a very fun track to race on.

tbh i barely noticed the 'fog' on London Loop till it was pointed out - they shouldve made lap 1 with this fog, lap 2 with heavier fog (maybe make visibility a bit less for a challenge) then on the third lap it starts raining and has to be played like a we course a la Neo Bowser city making for some crazy third laps/endings

Love your tier list Swift, good stuff! If it were me, I'd switch Sky-High Sundae with Mario Circuit 3 in the ranks. I know SNES tracks aren't the greatest but it's a bit unfair to rank it that low since Super Mario Kart was the first game in the franchise and the standards have gotten higher ever since. Also I am shocked that Berlin Byways is not A Rank at best! The music itself speaks louder than a thousand words.

im just glad i didnt play tour or really any MK games after 64/Super Circuit and Double Dash till i got mk8dx in 2020 cuz it means more than half the remakes are basically all new to me PLUS i think i get a LOT more enjoyment out of the city tracks since they're totally new to me - i just hope if we're gonna be forced to have TWO city tracks from tour in EVERY wave we should atleast get some better variation cuz tbh london/nyc/berlin/tokyo all feel a bit similar, syd sprint has a great layout/varying design that stood out and paris promenade had a more unique layout/art style too but outside of those 2 i find the city tracks to be between meh and good but very rarely great

Good list even though it might not match mine completely. Here's my personal ranking at the moment: 24 - GBA Sky Garden: This may be 24th on this list but for me it's by far the worst course ever made in its new form. They butchered the original layout of the course, removed shortcuts and replaced the original road with an orange colour. It's a disgrace of a remake that tainted the original's legacy, I couldn't despise it more; 23 - Tour Tokyo Blur: This city just doesn't do it for me, it's a bit too bland and boring to drive through. This course is still fun but quite meh compared to others; 22 - 3DS Toad Circuit: I know this course gets a lot of hate but I actually quite enjoy it a lot. Sure, it's a boring choice but it's still a fun course; 21 - GBA Boo Lake: An amazing remake of the GBA course but unfortunately I don't find it as engaging as the others and I miss the Boos holding candles. Still, it is an amazing course which deserves a ton of praise; 20 - N64 Choco Mountain: I love this course in its original form and also really like the remake but for some reason I don't feel it is as good as the other courses offered in the DLC; 19 - SNES Mario Circuit 3: Such a great course, I love how flat and simplistic it is while being really hard to go through. This game desperately needed a flat course and this absolutely delivered even though SNES Mario Circuit 4 would've been a better choice; 18 - Tour London Loop: I absolutely adore this course for the Chain Chomps, atmosphere and maze-like structure but unfortunately it has a lot of empty areas which really hinder its quality. I found this course bad in Tour but they made it great here so that's an accomplishment on its own anyways; 17 - GBA Snow Land: I loved this course the first time I played it but the more I played the more I started to not like it as much. It's still a really fun course but I wish there were more obstacles in it; 16 - Tour/BCP Merry Mountain: An amazing course all-around (especially for its theming) but I feel like it could be better on the layout department. It's great but just not the best unfortunately; 15 - Wii Mushroom Gorge: A lovely course all around which is a ton of fun. I love to bounce around on this course, it's so great; 14 - 3DS Rock Rock Mountain/3DS Alpine Pass: An amazing underrated masterpiece of a course. It is such a blast to just glide over a beautiful scenery and I'm glad this course made it in for that reason; 13 - BCP/Tour Sky-High Sundae: By far the most underrated course in the DLC, it feels so alien compared to other courses and is so floaty and fun. That combined with its weird theme makes it perfect for me; 12 - Tour Paris Promenade: A simple yet amazing course for its theme and layout. I have nothing to say about this one besides the fact that it's really immersive; 11 - Tour New York Minute: An amazing course which I think is underrated. I find it so fun cruising through the streets of New York and I think that it works well but the stationary cars, perfect course; 10 - N64 Kalimari Desert: I always loved this course in its original form and this remake somehow improved it even more. I love avoiding the train, going through the tunnel and driving through an empty desert road, such a great course; 09 - Wii Maple Treeway: I love the comforting autumn setting of this course along with its really creative design, it's just a blast to play every time; 08 - Wii Coconut Mall: Even though they butchered the end of this course it is still a blast racing through a giant mall, this course deserves the praise it receives and more; 07 - Tour Sydney Sprint: This course was pretty meh in Tour but here they somehow made it amazing. I just love it all-around; 06 - DS Waluigi Pinball: I always found this course pretty overrated in the past but here they somehow made me finally really enjoy it. It's just a really fun course all-around; 05 - DS Peach Gardens: If they kept the main maze-like design unchanged from the original version (with 5 rows of bushes rather than 3), the item boxes behind the chain chomps and the tricky flowers to avoid this would easily be number 1 on the list as it is on its original form my second favourite racing course ever. Fortunately the path change on the last lap kind of makes it a lot more redeemable and the course is still so gorgeous that it's hard to make it bad. It's worse than the original layout-wise but still amazing; 04 - 3DS Rainbow Road: Simply a masterpiece. You go through space on a beautiful Rainbow Road in an unforgettable journey, it's highly regarded for a reason; 03 - Tour Berlin Byways: I didn't enjoy this course in Mario Kart Tour that much but somehow combining the three variants made it a masterpiece. This course simply has everything: you go through a train station, several parks, the Berlin wall, arches, etc. (it's the whole package) while having a part of the road dedicated to just avoiding cars and tree roundabouts reminiscent of N64 Toad's Turnpike or DS Shroom Ridge. Unlike those two courses though, this one tries to do more than just being another car course and only uses the cars to enhance the course itself. For me this is already an underrated classic; 02 - DS Shroom Ridge: They somehow made an ok course into a masterpiece without changing it too much, I just adore this new version of the course and I don't know why; 01 - Tour/BCP Ninja Hideaway: I love courses with branching paths you can choose and this one delivers that perfectly. On top of that it's a really challenging course which makes it perfect. Bias for DS Airship Fortress aside it might be the best course ever.
