Wave 4 has blown my expectations out of the water in terms of quality. None of the tracks in my opinion are subpar. To celebrate we are ranking Wave 4 on our Tier List which already includes Wave 1, 2 and 3!

I'm a newer viewer to the channel, and I keep coming back because you make some really good MK8 Deluxe content here. It really entices my interest in the game more than I was before. This wave is my personal favorite so far btw, only two tracks I don't particularly like that much (Amsterdam Drift and Bangkok Rush because I personally prefer the tracks being the same each lap (I know I'm old school), and the tight turns being too hard on 200cc; not to mention I haven't played Tour so these tracks are new to me) and we got Birdo who I enjoy using! Yoshi's Island is a phenomenal track. I love the homage to Yoshi's Island by giving it the F-Zero and Animal Crossing treatment, making it easily my favorite in the entire Booster Course pack tbh. Every other track is pretty good too, even DS Mario Circuit despite how simple it is and how it wasn't one of my favorites in MKDS (I love Yoshi Falls, I wish that would return).

Agreed! Sky High Sunday is the worst of all the BCP tracks, & the tour version is better in my eyes. DS mario circuit gets a bad rating I feel because there's better DS tracks out there to bring to MK8DX. Still out of the Circut courses in this game it's a very good one & has a lot of polish.

@@TheCoffeeToffees people wanted airship fortress but don’t realize it wouldn’t be healthy for the game in the long run. The track having litterally 0 shortcuts would not be fun, and after the nostalgia factor or hype died down in a month or 2, people would start noticing it’s flaws. DS Mario circuit is great! People don’t give it enough credit cause it’s litterally one of the best Mario circuits alongside GCN and 3DS

But I will say that Nintendo sold the bag by not adding Delfino Square or Airship Fortress as they do have better track layouts and gimmicks than Mario Circuit(with delfino square being my 2nd fav ds track and airship right after) but Mario circuit is still a tier higher that Mario circuit 3 and toad circuit.

DS Mario circuit was a great addition, it’s sad it’s getting a bad rep at the moment just cause people wanted airship fortress which would’ve been arguably worse for the game in the long run . MK8 circuits are always super smooth and flows well and this track is no different, while also having fun and actually rewarding shortcuts that actually cut time off compared to airship fortress which litterally has 0. D tier was super harsh, it should be at least a low A tier in my op because the layout is solid, while being harder in some areas in easier in others. All in all I still respect your opinions and I mostly agree with you on everything else. Great vid!

Ranking Wave 4: 8. Tour Amsterdam Drift (6/10) 7. DS Mario Circuit (7/10) 6. GBA Riverside Park (7/10) 5. Tour Bangkok Rush (7/10) 4. Tour Singapore Speedway (8/10) 3. GCN Waluigi Stadium (8/10) 2. Yoshi’s Island (9/10) 1. Wii DK Summit (10/10) Mario Circuit would’ve been on the bottom, but they added that forest section to make it more interesting, so that uppers my opinion about it. As of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Berlin Byways and Singapore Speedway are the best city tracks I’ve played, and the worst one is Paris Promenade (in my opinion) because it has less track than all the other. Yoshi’s Island would’ve been a 10/10 if it was a 3 sectioned track forming one lap, like Mount Wario and Big Blue.

The only thing that brings this wave down for me is the fact that we didn't get Airship Fortress, and now we're just not, that course is remaining solidly on the DS until they decide to release it with the next mario kart years down the road, or it'll just end up forgotten.

I am from the netherlands and i am so happy that there is a Amsterdam track. Sometimes i feel that the netherlands doesn't get any attantion compaired to france or england so i am so happy that a famous game like mario kart did. None the less i think evryone is happy to see their own city/country in mario kart. I think the people from france, england, germany and all other countries are happy to see a track based on their home country

@SwiftJar You wanna know something I find strange yet curious? If you take the upper path during Laps 1 and 3 of Bangkok Rush where the Sky Train Station is, if you look to your right (left in Mirror Mode), you can see cameos of 2 karts that either have yet to be in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, or may not be added into MK8DX at all. I'm talking about the Flame Flyer from Mario Kart Wii, and the Royale from Mario Kart DS. These 2 karts, along with the P-Wing, cameo'd in Bangkok Rush as part of advertistments for the "Mario Kart Motor Show"; and they are seen in huge posters located on the right side of the upper track where the Sky Train Station is (left side in mirror mode). With Flame Flyer and Royale having their cameos retained in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's version of Bangkok Rush, it makes me wish that additional vehicles could also get implemented in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I would love to see Wild Wing, from Mario Kart Wii & my Favorite Mario Kart vehicle overall (tied with P-Wing), useable in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Maybe you & others like Albert Boris can touch upon such a topic in videos one day.

@@Swiftjar Aww, you're welcome, SwiftJar. I was hoping you could mention it in your Bangkok Rush comparison video. But since you already did that video, maybe you and others like Albert Boris can talk about the cameos of Flame Flyer & Royale in other videos; maybe ones about the possibility (not guaranteed, but possible) that additional vehicles could be implemented into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, just like how characters are implemented in the game right now. My favorite Mario Kart vehicle of all time, tied with the P-Wing, is the Wild Wing from Mario Kart Wii. Vehicles with racing spoilers, sleek and aerodynamic designs, and most of all - intimidating & scowling headlights (and tail lights with the same traits as the headlights) will always be my favorite type of vehicles. And Wild Wing & P-Wing, despite the latter having no spoiler, are among them.

Yoshis Island got great visuals, but i not 100% convinced from the track layout, its a little bit to short so its more a High A in my opinion. Mario Circuit DS is not the most exciting course but its not that bad, maybe a Low C? and personly Bangkok is my favourit Tour course, so i would swap its position with Singapore.

My track rankings based on playing them today (none of them are bad honestly, just comparatively some are way better) and the music is sensational in all of them: 1. Yoshi Island - Great references to the Yoshi Island games and the different parts of the courses are fantastic. 2. Waluigi Stadium - Easily the most fun track we've had in this DLC, and the half pipe section is something else. 3. Singapore Speedway - Visually stunning and easily the best Tour Track we've had. 4. Bangkok Rush - Surprisingly really fun, and the shortcuts are always fun to take. 5. Riverside Park - Let's be honest, GBA tracks don't miss, but this one comparatively to the rest of the wave doesn't stand a chance due to it's simplicity. 6. DK Summit - I would say this one is sadly the worst Wii one so far, but it is still a lot of fun and the half pipes are great. 7. DS Mario Circuit - Honestly, best circuit we've had so far, but unfortunately can't compete with all these great tracks. 8. Amsterdam Driftway - Water section is fantastic, but outside of that, a pretty bland and simple tour track in my eyes.

While I agree with most of your picks, you can't speak so highly of DS Mario Circuit then put it in D tier alongside 3DS Toad Circuit. It doesn't belong anywhere below B tier in my opinion, and it's certainly a much better track than Sky-High Sundae

Personally I think my list for this wave would be 8. Bangkok Rush (just kinda forgettable) 7. Amsterdam Drift (thought it would be better) 6. Mario Circuit (not bad but there's only so much you can do with a circuit to differentiate it from other circuits) 5. Singapore Speedway (genuinely the only tour track I enjoy, especially in 200cc 4. Waluigi Stadium (adore the music and graphics, definitely a nostalgia trip, just feel like it doesn't play the best to MK8 physics) 3. Riverside Park (a track I always wanted to see back and my god is it gorgeous, love how it plays too) 2. DK Summit (grew up on MK Wii so this isn't any surprise, like that they kept the gap jump and the half pipe shortcuts, made the music better too) 1. Yoshi's Island (speechless, already a top 5 all time track to me, track feels so alive with all the themeing and background characters but doesn't feel cluttered or random, the music, the sound effects, the yoshi coins, how it plays, and the theme at the end of the race is just flawless)

DUDE, PLEASE LET ME TELL YOU WHY DS MARIO CIRCUIT IS NOT A D TIER (and even a better track than Delfino Square or Airship Fortress, but that's just my opinion) DS Mario Circuit DEFINITLY deserves A tier in my regards, not only does it have a more complex lay-out than some other ''better'' courses, it has SOOOO many shortcuts, and now you might be 'well, I know you can mushroom through the sand' but you probably aren't aware of the 2 biggest shortcuts, which are cleverly hidden in plain sight! The first one is a small little bump which is placed very secretly in the turn before the fire piranha plants, which allows you to use a hop and a mushroom (wow actually using a hop for a shortcut?!) to skip that turn! Not 'special' enough? Listen to this, they secretly hid a shortcut... Within another shortcut! You have probably noticed the corner cuts in the forest section, which require you to use a mushroom? What if I tell you you can take that 2nd corner cut MUCH further, and just jump *over the fence and past the item area entirely,* and if you do this shortcut, which is extremely well hidden and a pain to get to (too many trees lol), you can skip soooo much of the track, fairly easily, but it feels soo rewarding! This track is not at all comparable with the Mario Circuits you put it with, why do people hate it just because ''it's a circuit so it MUST be bad!'' And don't lie to yourself, that is kinda what you did here! How can you go make a list, essentially calling this a perfect remaster, to then go say 'it's in D?' this track at least deserves B and in my opinion even a *high A,* as it is one of the most enjoyable tracks of the entire game to drive on! And I haven't even mentioned the many charming hazards, and awesome graphics! They truely make me happy! Please GET THING THING OUT OF D TIER, and thanks for reading!

Dude, I loved Waluigi Stadium from the original MKDD, but the remake seriously blew my mind! My only real complaint is that I kind of wished the piranha plants stayed in the same spots, but that doesn’t really matter anyway since they were already pretty simple to drive around. And the visuals make it look like it’s actually from the original MK8D.

I'm still processing all of the new tracks, but I think Yoshi's Island is definitely S tier. It is in my top 10 favorite tracks in the game. What a beautiful homage to the SNES classic right down to the Yoshi coins and faithful sound effects. Waluigi Stadium is either high S or low S for me. I love how slick it looks, and the bumpy terrain is super fun. Amsterdam and Singapore are A tier. I love that we finally have an underwater part in a city track. Singapore has a lot of variety. Bangkok has awesome branching paths and looks pretty, but I enjoy it a little less. B tier. Same with DK Summit. I dunno, it feels a little clunky at parts. Riverside Park is basic but looks beautiful. I love driving through the waterfall. DS Mario Circuit is the worst but still a C tier track for me. The new forest section gives a little more variety, and the fire piranha plants cause chaos online.

Okay Yoshi’s Island needs its own category, like SS or S+. They did an amazing job! Yoshi’s island was the first game I ever had, I played it on my Game Boy Advance. Just like you, my expectations were so extremely high and they blew them right out of the water. In love with this track!!

As a Dutchman I don't particularly like the Amsterdam Drift, although the overall course looks nice. And since our capital largely consists of somewhat older areas, I understand that it is difficult to make it a fancy race. Overall Wave 4 is great!

As someone who hasn’t played yoshi’s island the game, this track made me want to play it. Beyond any bias that you have there’s no doubt that the yoshi’s island track is one of the best tracks in the booster course and possible all of Mario kart.

Waluigi Stadium is the only course not ported from Tour and not built to be compatible with Tour in the future. That's why it looks and plays like a base game track. This is what we could have had if Tour didn't provide a shortcut for the dlc's track design.

I mean this wave is amazing. I think this is my farvourite one yet!So even the worst track here is very good, so this is my list: 8.Ds mario circuit 7.Gba riverside park 6.Tour Amsterdam drift 5.Tour Bangkok rush 4.Wii Dk summit 3.Tour Singapore speedway 2.Waluigi stadium 1.Yoshis island Yoshis island is probably the best track in the entire game. I think I could put waluigi stadium a little lower but it is ok like this. Thanks for the video! These were super hard to rank! Keep it up

My biggest complaint is the music. The orchestral themes for DK Summit and Waluigi Stadium in particular did not capture the same energy as the original courses.

The only blindspot of Yoshi's Island for me is how hard it can be to hit that flying mystery cloud to make the bridge appear for you to jump through the flower ring. Overall, great course but still doesn't beat out my love for 3DS Rainbow Road.

This is my first impressions for wave 4 1. Yoshi's Island 10/10 2. DK Snowboard Cross 9/10 3. Singapore Speedway 8/10 4. Riverside Park 8/10 5. Waluigi Stadium 8/10 6. DS Mario Circuit 7/10 7. Amsterdam Drift 7/10 8. Bangkok Rush 6/10 Biggest surprise for me was Singapore Speedway, I wasn't expecting to like it all that much. I was actually expecting Bangkok Rush to be my favourite out of the 3 new city tracks before the wave came out just based on the trailer but from actually playing it that one feels way too cramped.

Here is my favorite and least favorite parts respectively of each course: Amsterdam Drift: *The distinctness of each lap *Each lap is pretty linear Riverside Park: *The visuals *Layout is kinda boring DK Summit: *That the gap cuts are back! *I wish the fog was still there Yoshi's Island: *All the references! *The volcano and cloud sections should have been anti-gravity Bangkok Rush: *The music *The Inky Piranha Plants are gone! DS Mario Circuit: *The forest section and Wiggler is pretty cool! *There should have been a reroute into the castle! Waluigi Stadium: *The anti-gravity sections *The music Singapore Speedway: *The visuals *The layout feels awkward (especially laps 2 and 3 which are too short and long respectively)

As a dutch guy. They should've made the canals much better. It's very blanc. Some mud on the ground, rusty bikes underwater and some small trash would've made that second lap so much better. (And more realistic)

Loved the vid! Personally I'm mixed on if I liked this or Wave 3 more though ranking the tracks I'd say myself 8. Riverside Park (it's not a bad track great visually, but this track still is sort of mid to drive on for me) 7. Singapore Speedway (I'm going to get hate for this, but this is my third least favorite City track. It's got pretty visuals but the driving itself didn't feel very engaging) 6. Mario Circuit (While not as engaging as I thought still a great track that fun to race on) 5. Amsterdam Drift (Still a banger and much better than the original and perfect opener) 4. DK Summit (A banger that also has a neat mechanic. If you drive through the deep snow your screen frosts at the edges) 3. Bangkok Rush (it was so lively and kept the spirit of the original I only wish they kept the surfboard cars to trick off) 2. Waluigi Stadium (An amazing start to the DD tracks) 1. Yoshi's Island (might just be in my top 5 favorites in the series)

hopefully we can see more GCN courses brought in, I never did play Double Dash, but it's got some good courses, so some I would be hoping for are Mushroom City, DK Mountain, Dino Dino Jungle and GCN Rainbow Road (kinda hoping the Blue Shell Cup is just a gauntlet of Rainbow Roads, cause that would be brutal)

I'm a bit confused when people keep saying Waluigis stadium is the first Double Dash Representation in 8 Deluxe. We have GCN Sherbet land, GCN Dry Dry Desert, GCN Yoshi's Curcuit and GCN Baby Park. So it's not the first Double Dash Representation in the game.

S Tier for Yoshi's Island, so many references from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island are all put into this course. DS Mario Circuit barely changes the track itself, all they did was added a forest section with a wiggler in it.

Its still a good choice, its one of the better Mario Circuits. And anyways, they probably wanted to give a new track a chance, as Airship Fortress and Delphino Square were in 7 and Wii.

I think Mario Circuit going in D tier is harsh. Honestly I think it is one of the best mario circuits we've ever had with the elevation changes and cool scenery. I'd put it in B tier personally.

Loving birdo and all the tracks, but lets be honest, wave 4 released way too early. Even before the Direct we were expecting late march to early to mid april, Now its here. That means a longer wait for wave 5 if it releases early august. Im sure you remember the long gap between waves 1 and 2.

It is possible, and let me be clear that I am in no way trying to act like this is definite, that Waves 5 and 6 may release in June and October, respectively. I say this because the _Ultimate_ Fighters Pass 2 released the last 3 characters closer together. Pyra and Mythra came out in early March 2021, Kazuya came out in late June 2021, and Sora came out in mid-October 2021. It is therefore *possible,* and let me repeat that possible does not mean likely, for _Mario Kart_ DLC to follow a similar pattern of closer releases for Waves 5 and 6. While _Smash_ DLC and _Mario Kart_ DLC are different, and Nintendo has *every right* to ignore this past pattern, the fact remains that this precedence remains.

Too many city tracks for my liking, but Yoshi's Island is the best Yoshi track ever. One of the best tracks ever period. All the remakes are the best versions of themselves. So. I can't complain. Plus new content is always welcome.

Riverside Park is stunning but the overall track isnt that entertaining to race on imo no idea why but DK Summit feels way to "wrong" to play in 8. the first 75% of the track are good, the last halfpipe section with the shy guys is very very weirdly done and the last turn doesnt feel right... Mario Circuit had some major glowup and is now really really enjoyable imo The rest was really hard to rank cause they're all that good haha
